    Hi All,

Does anyone know if renovations have begun at the Hard Rock? I know the guitar is gone :( but was wondering about the inside. We want to make a trip out there this trip but if there's nothing left of the "old" Hard Rock then maybe not.

Any input would be appreciated :)

I was there 6 weeks ago and nothing had started. I’ll be there again in 2 weeks. The construction activity out front (Harmon/Paradise), including the removal of the giant guitar, was a project started prior to the announced acquisition. It followed the closure of the old Hard Rock Cafe, which was never owned by the hotel/casino, but had been acquired. It's still very much the "same place!"

Was there 2 weeks ago, nothing's started that can be seen at the casino level. It had been years since I'd been there and was impressed, actually. The casino's small and kinda crowded but there's a lot to do and it's got a fun vibe. Hopefully Branson and co. keep that feel.

Vital Vegas reported that the plan is to delay renovations a little while and it will become a Virgin Hotel by the end of 2019.

If you are a fan of the HR theme, rumors are that the Seminole tribe is sniffing around Cosmopolitan which would be a perfect fit for them.

I was there today and didn't see any renovations being made to the casino floor.

I was just there for the past couple of days. The Virgin word is the Grand Opening is schedule for Dec. 2019. The only areas of the property that will NOT change is The Joint (concert venue), MB Steakhouse and the Magic Mikes venue (old Body English site)… everything else is fair-game for remodel or complete makeover. The remodel of the pool complex will commence after Labor Day with extensive construction activity. It's obvious this isn't one of those deals that involves taking down signs and putting up some new ones and calling it rebranding... Virgin is going to drop some serious coin in making this their property. The employees all seem excited about it all.

Do they still crack down on bringing in outside booze for your room? No party in room. Will be there in about a week. Think guitar will show up in Neon Bone yard?

The guitar was intended to be incorporated into some remodeling of the pool areas under the previous ownership, but I'm told all of those plans have been shelved. The visible construction on the corner of Harmon and Paradise to fold the old Hard Rock Café property into the main facility also seems to have stopped. As I mentioned above, December 2019 is the tentative date for the grand opening of the Virgin Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.

As for bringing in outside booze, etc., I didn't notice the same signs around, but doubt the policy has changed. That said, if you're reasonably discreet, I doubt you'd have a problem. If you try to bring several coolers up on an a hotel/valet cart, they're gonna stop you. The valet fellas at the HRH Tower keep a pretty close eye on what goes in and out of that tower, The guys at the front door, actually less so and I think the Paradise Tower would be the easiest of all to access the elevators without trouble. Hard Rock does have a couple of convenience stores called Hootenanny on property now, which are similar to Hudson stores in airports... similar prices (high) as well. Hard Rock used to operate their own stores, at much better prices, to compete with the throngs of people walking across the street to CVS, but no more.

Just use an empty backpack or something to get outside booze/ice into the room, no one would ever know. Highly unlikely the housekeeping would ever rat you out if they want to get a tip.

2019 is correct. It will take the rest of the year to develop the new concepts and draw up the plans.

When we went beginning of August it was there.
We did get our booze into our room. Did use a small rolling ice chest with other items
stacked on top and no problem. Also used a backpack.
