Just got back from Mandalay Bay last week. Had a great trip. They sure go by too fast!
Just wanted to drop a quick note that I had absolutely NO complaints about comp drinks at Mandalay Bay.
True, I was there on a Sun/Mon/Tue and the casino was a ghost town after midnight but it was refreshing to experience no issues or negativity with free drinks.
At both VP bars, 25c max bet ($1.25) per bet I was able to drink, drink and drink! It didn't matter if I played fast or slow or took long breaks playing with my phone. As long as I was sitting and doing some level of max bet play I was able to swig down 2,3 or 4 drinks before having to move on to the men's room. I tipped $1-$2, played it cool and chatted it up with bartenders from time to time. Easy enough!
Cocktail waitresses at slots were everywhere. Anywhere from 5-15 min to get an order in. Quick to return each time. The tables were even quicker. I was offered a drink within minutes and they come bask fast at the tables.
These was never any talk about 30 min gaps (like at Aria). I had another beer or mixed drink handed to me before even asking.
Maybe I just got the right people on the right night but things seemed pretty good over at MB. With the exception of the mixed drinks being weaker, it didn't feel much different than 2008 (or whenever the comps were flowing) in the casino.
