    My Trip Report

Getting ready to board the plane for a three night trip for UFC 216, football betting, poker, blackjack, and whatever else comes our way this trip. I am going to do this semi-live, looking to post updates at least a couple of time per day. For tonight's fights, we got our first win of the trip when our section was closed at T-Mobile Arena and I called the box office to score tickets from the $80 level to the $305 level at no cost. Looking forward to sharing our adventures, as I have enjoyed so many of yours on this forum.[IMG]

Great time at the fights last night. We got in about 20 minutes before scheduled and checked our bags at Monte Carlo Bell Desk because the check-in line was incredibly long, and we did not want to be too late for the fights. They had the automatic check-in email us that we could pick up our key at the kiosk, but it was not working, so we went with plan B and were off to the fights.

T-Mobile Arena is closer to Monte Carlo than I had thought, so we walked across the street and were right there in time for most of the fights. The Main Card, especially the two main events were great, and the seats were as good as we had hoped. The submission that Demetrious Johnson threw on Borg was right in front of us and looked incredibly impressive.

After the fights, we walked around the south end of the strip and ended up playing a new blackjack game I had never heard of at Excalibur. It was called Zappit, and like Blackjack Switch and Freebet Blackjack, gave the player one advantage from a standard game in exchange for the dealer pushing on 22. The player advantage for this game was that you could "Zap" any hard hand that totaled 15, 16, 17, or 18 and get two new cards. It sounds like a better deal than how it played out. I think I only ended up winning one of my "Zapped" hands for my relatively short session, where I managed to drop $100, while Aaron scraped by with a small win ($15). That is probably a game I won't play again. The advantage to the player is just not as big as it seems to be for Switch or Freebet.

It was getting late after that, about 3am Chicago time (1am in Vegas), so we walked the strip a bit, going as far north as Paris before heading back to Monte Carlo to call it a night.

We are planning on getting into a morning poker tourney and watching/betting football. I have a four team teaser in with the Jets getting 7 against Cleveland, Steelers giving 1 to Jacksonville, 49ers getting 8.5 against Indy, and the Eagles getting a half point against the Cardinals. I also have a parlay with the Jets, Giants, and Bills...and I am not even a New Yorker.

Time to head out and get the day started. More to come...[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Nice seats. Those people in white seem to be blocking the view. They should not be allowed to stand on the cage at any time.

Even the cameramen don't need to stand there in this day and age.

Great seats for the fights!! And regarding the parlay involving the New York teams, well, I live in New York and still don't bet the Giants. I took the Chargers. The Giants suck!! No running game, no offensive line and now no receivers left. Bye, bye season!!
