Does anybody have any recommendations for slots that work well to grind on for tier points. Meaning win and lose back and forth, but be able to play for a long time. I realize this might come down to luck, but my experience in non-progressives and I had good luck on a low jackpot monopoly machine. Spend 3 hours on it for about $200 playing $3 bets.

    Only 13 days to Vegas!!!

You might want to read this post from a few days ago asking pretty much the same thing.

Bottom line... play machines with lower jackpots. After that, anything can happen.

And yes,it is luck as another poster mentioned earlier today. Took a $100 bankroll and played a LONG time... mainly because they hit a jackpot early.

a newer low volatility series of slots is the Quick Spin series of games by Ainsworth, probably not gonna win much on it, but it seems that you can play for a long time on a few bucks.........

Good advice on the quickspin. I never really win much on it but I'll try it.

You could say the same about ANY 3 x 5 Konami machine.

Casino lore used to be that machines near the entrance were set with higher payout percentages to draw people in

    Is that still accurate?

Do screen size and graphics, themes play a role in entrance-proximity these days?

AFAIK, that was an urban legend.

No, but they will put newer machines in high traffic areas.

you might get more specific recommendations if you mention where you plan to play.

A lot of the IGT / High 5 Games slots are pretty low volatility. You'll recognize them as games that feature superstacks of symbols, no progressives (generally) and semi-frequent but lower-paying bonuses. That it, you're not going to bet $1 and crack it for $1000 on these.

    Examples:
    Black Widow
    The Prince of Lightning
    Golden Goddess
    Shadow of the Panther
    Dangerous Beauty
    Jaguar Princess
    Midnight Eclipse

They also feature other games of low volatility:
    Davinci Diamonds
    Cats
    Noah's Ark
    Twin Win
    Texas Tea
    Wolf Run
    Coyote Moon

There's also a bevy of old school Aristocrat 9-liners that aren't bad either, but they may be hard to find now.

Old reel slots are good for this, Double Diamond especially since it's less volatile. Things like 10x Pay which can give huge jackpots are not as good for grinding it out. Locally here they have a 5 line Triple Stars machine that worked well for this purpose.

There's also a 2 coin max bet Double Jackpot w/ Quick Hit machine that is good for grinding. I've seen it in 25c, 50c, $1, $5 denom. They also have a 5x/10x Pay version of that game, but that's more volatile as I was saying. I did have a huge line hit on that once, $375 on 50c bet.

LOL, one of my cohorts will frequently intentionally "forget" to pull out his players card and has had a few times where significant points were played on said forgotten cards. :)

I will admit when I first started playing I heard about this strategy and tried it a couple times. Most times it resulted in no points but occasionally I would get a small bump.
Since they have added "perks" like free parking by swiping your card (not requiring ID) if you are a certain tier I would not recommend this. You could end up with a couple low/no play days when you are not even there and your comps can suffer far more then gaining the 30 tier credits you might be lucky to get if the next person playing the machine does not have a card and does not pull yours out.

Or if you're at a casino that doesn't always check ID when redeeming points or comps, someone could use yours without you knowing.
