They need a 24 hr dining establishment that sells more then pancakes. Griddle Cafe can't fill that nitch.
They are trying to re-org their operating structure to keep costs in alignment. New operators struggle to build a brand and re-tune their offering.
Obviously the segment they were going after is not working. I think they need another 6 months to right the ship, hope they can last that long.

They really need something cool or great service to pull people north to that location.

That's a shame. They had some tasty breakfast grub.

Bummer, I was planning to go there in 1.5 weeks as part of an SLS visit.

Yikes, that's not a good sign! I ate there last trip and really enjoyed it , the breakfast menu (and food) was awesome.

The funny thing was that the Griddle Cafe was very busy, despite the casino itself being empty.

The Griddle Café was not failing - that's not the reason for the closure. This is a re-org that's been planned for some time.

Oh damn, that sucks. I was going to check them out next week, but I guess I'll cross that off the list.

The former COO from Revel, Scott Kreeger, is now running SLS. SLS has the same snobbery that doomed Revel.

So,the big question mgmt must ask.

Do we save more money closing xxx than we lose elsewhere by closing xxx?

I am thinking you lose more, and the downward spiral speeds up.

In all fairness, they didn't create a brand new brand for Vegas. They already had this brand for many ******s.

I personally think the SLS in Beverly Hills is excellent and would be happy to stay there. There are several weird things about the Las Vegas SLS personally:

-As a Los Angeles native, it's like walking into a bizarro version of Hollywood and what the rest of the country thinks we live like since we have the same restaurants and nightlife and mashed it into a Miami like scene
    -Not made for gamblers
-No freaking bathtubs unless you have the penthouse!
