    My Trip Report

Well this was a bit of a different trip...
...I LOST most of my bankroll, lol! (surrrprise, surrprise)
That hasn't happened in quite a while, but neither my slot
or VP play were very entertaining. (3k down, four hundred home)

I had my favorite little corner RIO room, ZUMANITY, FAB FOUR, STOMP,
MAMMA MIA, and MYSTERE held their reputation for great evening
entertainment, but the 'ol surgery' thing kept me on a slower pace...I took
my time getting to the floor each morning.
Had fun meeting Mr. and Mrs. 'Westie' and 'beach3993' along with my local
Las Vegas friends. Meeting folks from the boards is alway a good time!

    (A TIPICAL MORNING)
5:30ish I'd call my 'Philipino Redneck' buddy Pat at room service and order
a half carafe of coffee. (she usually sends up a full one)...then watch the
morning news, make notes of the last evenings events, review the days
activities and...count whats left of my money (one hundred...)

I love my mornings in an upper, Strip view, RIO room! (three hundred...)
You can keep all the hussle and bussle, sirens, horn honking, neon glare of
the Bulivard. Watching Las Vegas wake up and the sunrise from off-Strip
    is more my kinda thang!

From my 2 walls of windows, this is my view...(four hundred...)
To the Left (North), you almost make out the glow of downtown.
Clear as a bell are Stratosphere , TRUMP, the three towers of TURNBERRY,
ENCORE, t.i. with WYNN's origional tower sticking up behind it and the
new PALAZZO towering over all of 'em. (seven hundred...)
MIRAGE seems closest in view...the VENETIAN in back of it.
Poor little HARRAHS looks like an air vent grate and then the blue letters
IMPERIAL PALACE next to and below it.
The EMPIRE OF ROME fills up the rest of the skyline to Flamingo Road.
Looking at it...it fills as much space as TREASURE ISLAND to the VENETIAN
    combined.
BALLYS (like Harrahs) looks so dated next to PARIS and BELLAGIO which fills
    my next line of view.
Eleven cranes surround the skeleton of CITY CENTER...all lit up like daytime
with its 24/7 construction schedual and then my view STOPS!...with the giant, glowing, blue and red wall of MASQUERADE TOWER. (...a thousand)
Below are all the palm trees and pools of RIO, with the seemingly always vacant High Roller casa...(I rarely see anyone in there these days)

At this elevation, the morning news, weather and traffic take on
    additional 'visual aids'.

"Southbound I-15 is at a crawl", (yep, I can see that...)
"we have an accident (thousand one...) at the Flamingo on ramp" reports
their Channel 8 helecopter...I could touch him, he's right outside my window!

6:35 was sunrise Las Vegas. The lower horizon is bright orange (partly due
to our California wild fire smoke) Then powder blue, darkening to a clear,
    brilliant terquoise above.
In the center over CAESARS...'Venus' in the morning sky.
8 lingering vapor trails from high flying Airforce jets break up the air like a
multi payline slot machine...ITS ALL VERY COOL ACTUALLY!!!
    (one thousand four hundred...)

Weather reports a great day with temps in the low 90s, 'OJ' is still in the
clink, apartment tenants are singin' the blues because they all have to
be OUT! by October so Harrahs can start building, and thank God...NO
    Britney updates!

I swear...LVs early morning and late night TV commercials are gettin' really
bad! They all seem to target the down and out, desperate victoms with
that...'if it sounds too good to be true' come-on for EASY MONEY! work at
home, CHEAP over night weight loss gimmicks, sleezy used-car-salesmen,
discount burials and LAWERS, LAWERS, LAWERS!!! money, money, money...
...Las Vegas is always about da MONEY!
DAMN...only eighteen hundred bucks left and its only Tuesday (see what I mean!, lol)

7am, coffees gone, time for a shower. I've got a HOT DATE waitin' for me downstairs in Masquerade Village with a Banana Nut Muffin at COFFEE BEAN.
...over and out, next trip December 16-20.

Gregrio-Thanks for the TR.Sorry you lost. You'll get 'em next time.Your morning
coffee time story brought back some of my fond memories.Although I do prefer the hustle and bustle of the strip. Most of our rooms have provided
strip views.I always loved the morning (not 5:30),more like 8 or 9,view when
things were at a slower pace.Having coffee and getting excited about the
    coming day.
Is LOVE a GOOD show?I am agreat Beatles fan and can listen to the music
whenever I want. But does this show have the same acrobatic excitement as
Mystere? We have seen Mystere twice and loved it.We have tickets booked for
"O".But if Love is worth it,we will consider that too. Thanks!!

    Perfect description!

Whoa! Did you just want to make me cry or what?!
Love the description of early morning time in Vegas.
I, too, usually drag an arm chair over to a window, prop my feet up and watch the sun slowly rise over the mountains. Love those quiet moments.
Despite the monetary loss Greg, you always come out a winner in Vegas because you know how to go beyond the gaming and enjoy all that the city has to offer.
    Thanks for the report.

December WILL be a winning trip! lol, and yeah...there lots of
ways to enjoy Las Vegas aside from the casinos and Shows...just ask Clark Griswold!
    GRAMPA J...ya gotta see LOVE!
The trick is to get your seats well in advance from the BOXOFFICE: 1.800.627.6667
    May I suggest SECTION 200, ROWS L,M,N.
Theres many wonderful Artists in LOVE like MYSTERE, but the emphasis here is on the
Beatles music...the acrobatics almost seem secondary. Theres more choreography to
the music than in other Cirque Shows.
Costumes and sets are just great...you'll have a blast, GO!

I'll post some thoughts on the Shows I saw tomorrow...there IS some new info.

Greg, there was an article in the LV Business Press tis week about lawyers' ads. THe new rules are that they can now use dramitzations, but all commercials have to be submitted to the Bar for pre-review. I don't know what fresh hell that will bring, but it was mentioned that attorneys are right behind car dealers in TV ad revenue. I just wish Glenn Lerner would get a new jingle and a haircut.

It certainly is a small world Greg !! My wife met you coming down in the elavator , it was Tues or Wed. evening. YOu were going to meet with some board members. When she told me about the very nice gentleman that she chated with in the elevator, I knew that it had to be you. We looked around for you to say hello but you were gone. Maybe next time. I will post a report as soon as I am back on Ohio time. Got back last night and still half asleep.
We did see Love and it is fantastic!!
