I recently joined this group after being vaguely aware of it for some time.

I first came to Las Vegas in the 80's and immediately fell in love with it. In the 90's I quit my job in the Midwest and moved here permanently. Still don't want to live anywhere else except during the super hot summer months.

Over the years I've played blackjack and live poker, but now it's mostly video poker. I regularly play at several casinos so I hope to be able to contribute to this group.

Greetings Yokel! I'd be interesting knowing where you moved from and what casinos you play in the most.

    I moved here from Ohio.

I play the most at (in no particular order) Rampart, Gold Coast, Palms, Tuscany, Ellis Island, Silverton, Hard Rock and Wynn. Also play occasionally at several other places like Red Rock and Arizona Charlie's Decatur.

Yes......welcome. It's good to have a regular poster from Vegas. I ,for one, look forward to your insight and opinions on anything Vegas.
Question......what casino, in your opinion, will give the most "comps" to a low roller?
    Thanks in advance.

If you're asking about discretionary comps that you would get from a host, those are scarce for low rollers.

Otherwise, although I don't play there mainly because of location, I would recommend Sam's Town for a low roller. They have plenty of good video poker and frequent point multipliers so you can rack up points quickly.

Welcome to the board, Yokel! My brother moved out in 2011 and loves it (lives in Summerlin, he posts here as well). Many other locals post here as well and they are great for information and good Vegas stories. I limit nearly all play to the three games you play (or have played - BJ & Poker - Limit/Tournament and Video Poker - FPDW, 10/7 DB and 9/6 JOB or BDlx - w/ occasional 9/5 on the Strip staying on a comp).

What games are ineligible for point multipliers at Sam's Town? I assume FPDW and 10/7 DB, but are 9/6 JOB also excluded? I'm interested in playing next trip their $1 progressive machines.

How are Silverton & Palms w/ room comps (or comps in general)? Do you strictly get FP and food being a local? Want to seed one or two future comp stays at these three casinos if it's worthwhile (also South Point).

I believe only the over-100% payback machines at Sam's Town are ineligible for point multipliers, although you will get 2x for having a Sapphire card and 3x for Emerald on all machines. Look for stickers on the machines.

Silverton is more generous with comps and mailers compared to the Palms but the video poker paytables at the Palms are better. At the South Point you usually must have a big loss to get good mailed offers or comps from a host.

Yes, as a local mailed offers are usually food and free play with a few free room nights if your play warrants it.
