Greetings from Austin

Hi!

I joined the board five years ago, but that was to post one or two questions or something. Lately I've been lurking more, and I've got a trip coming up (tomorrow!) so I thought I'd stop in and say hi.

I live in Austin, and get out to Vegas 2-4 times a year. Living in Austin, there's no gamblin' closer than four hours away, so I need my fix some way; so vicariously it is! Please post more trip reports!

Welcome back from a fellow Austinite who visits Vegas 3-4 times a year. Love this board and the TR's - some fine writers and story tellers here.

Austin here since 1959, love vegas been 50 ish times since the 90's love it. Got married in Vegas !!

 

I think there is a constant stream of VMBers flying out of Austin in order to keep Las Vegas weird....

 

4 hours? Where are you going? I think the closest is Eagle Pass, and that's like 6 isn't it? The only other ones I know about are in OK and LA, and they're both 6+ hours away. But, it's cheaper and faster to fly to Vegas.

And, I've been in the Austin area since 1980. And, like mescalita said, there's a good group of us on here that invade Vegas. Welcome to the funny farm.

Doh: I just looked them up, and yeah, it's like 3.5 hours. But, it looks like all they have is slots, and poker. No table games?

 

My new girlfriend here in Cleveland just moved from Austin after 38 years there! I know, why?
I believe I would prefer Austin, heat and all. Cleveland is ok, but too cold for my taste.
Here name is Piret. Anyone recognize that name from Austin?
