    Trips to Las Vegas:
The other day, we played at The Venetian for about six hours and earned 1,723 points. How do you convert this to coin in?

You can't. Grazie points are based totally on the theoretical hold of the machines you play.

The three variables in the Grazie calculation are:
    Theoretical hold of a machine
    Coin In
    Total Points

If you know two of the variables, you can figure out the third. But If you only know one, you can't figure out either of the other two, without some help.

If you played only one machine, and you know the name of the game and the denomination, someone else may already have figured out the theoretical hold (although I think I'm the only one who's ever posted a number like that). A 5 cent denom Wolf Run machine was set to 12.5%. You could possibly estimate from that (like use a 15% hold for a penny slot), but it would only be an estimate.

    For example:
    1,723 points
10 points per $1 of theoretical hold = $172.30 in theoretical hold
If you were playing a machine with a 15% hold, then you did ~$1,150 coin in.
If you were playing a machine with a 10% hold, then you did $1,723 coin in.

It might be quicker to just call and see if they'll tell you over the phone.

In terms of comps, knowing your coin is only important as a way of estimating your theo. With Grazie, you don't have to estimate your theo, it's staring you right in the face.
