I'm going back to Vegas in a couple of weeks - and taking a 5 hour nonstop flight! Any suggestions for a good Las Vegas read that will get me in the Vegas mood when I land???
Whale Hunt in the Desert by Deke Castleman is a great read. It's about host Steve Cyr and his rise to prominence dealing with the high rollers. Bringing Down the House is another fun one (about the MIT card counting BJ teams)
I might suggest When The Mob Ran Vegas, by {mumble - forget}. Most any libe or bookstore should have it. (LOL, I forget the author, but I actually have a signed copy, when the author was doing a book signing at a local B&N.)
Another quick rea you can knock out in a five hour flight is Lay the Favorite. Mainly focuses on sports betting, but there is plenty of vegas action in it
Agreed on Whale Hunt in the Desert, it was a good, interesting read. Also Under the Neon Sky, which is the story of a doorman at MGM in the 90s. For more poker content (non-strategy) check out Lost Vegas by Pauly McGuire.
Oscar goodman book License to pawn by rick Harrison Grandissimo, a book about Jay Sarno Under the neon sky
Thanks for all the good suggestions - have ordered Whale Hunt in the Desert....hopefully, it will be here before I leave!
