I am bringing some fellas out in June to celebrate the end of my 40s and we are interested in doing a pool party.

BUT.....we truly don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb gawking at 90% twenty three year olds. We’re staying at The D whose pool is kinda meh.

Can anyone recommend a pool party where maybe we can get a cabana, relax, have a decent but not over the top party vibe, and actually meet some folks who aren’t two decades younger??

    Thanks!

Saphires pool parties sound like somewhere you and the group may enjoy.

Moorea has all types of people, generally a good time. A little older prior to 1pm then gets progressively younger as you get progressively drunker. Cabanas available.

Ummmm, isn’t Sapphire essentially a strip club outside? Not that there’s anything wrong with that. ;)

I think most the stripping happens inside but I know a few of our members loved the place, and not just because of the eye candy :)

@notfromconcentrate I think has been... may be able to give more detail.

That is the most generous description of The D pool that I have ever read.

I have been there once. It literally does not feel real, it’s that much fun. On my upcoming trip I’m building an entire weekend out of going there three days in a row, if that tells you anything.

Is it truly just hanging out and partying like any other pool scene? Or are the girls working like in an indoor strip club?

I don’t judge, but I’m not really a fan of the latter as it seems to me like a waste of money. But if it’s the former, I would definitely be interested.

It’s mostly the former. The majority of the day was spent by my buddy and I relaxing in the small pool drinking beer, and playing pool volleyball in the main pool.

Strippers are hanging out in the pool too, and since they are “working”, I suppose you might get approached by a few for dances. Never happened to me in the three-ish hours I was there. Didn’t feel pressured at all like I often feel in indoor strip clubs.

Go Pool is maybe a bit raucous but in my experience it has a wide range of ages. Like any pool party, mostly the younger crowd, but I’m 35 and last summer when I was there I noticed quite a few groups at least a decade older than ours.

It’s a real “party pool” - with a house party vibe - not a “club pool” with a big name DJ and a lot of money flaunting, so that probably has something to do with it.

Thanks for weighing in with that one. We’re staying at The D, so that would be pretty convenient.

Now I’m torn! Moorea is slightly more inexpensive, but that Tank pool is not to be missed. Hmmmm.....:peace:

You are being way, way too kind. Its a great pool if you like the smell of exhaust fumes, as its basically ON the street. And I think it won an award for Las Vegas hotel/casino smallest pool.

I haven't been to either Moorea or GN. However, I would vote for GN as it would involve only walking and if someone wanted/needed to return to his room it would not be an ordeal.

I've stayed at the D\Fitzgerald's over a dozen times, and I couldn't even tell you where the pool is or how to get there.

Pool parties are great for us older guys. That is because we are expected to buy the booze for all the 20 somethings.

if you dont do that, it wont be quite as fun.
