Better if you don't mind wearing ear plugs. I found the music level to be crazy loud. I'm not even close to approaching the "get off my lawn" age group either.

    IT IS LOUD.
What is it with Derek and the loud music?
I wonder if he were to open a 4th and and 5th casino would they also have the loud music. It is almost bizarre.

If I had comped rooms at The Nugget then I’d stay there no question. I’ve paid twice for a Rush Tower room and didn’t regret it

I’d love to play there more but their VP is dreadful

I used to love the Nugget. The rooms in the new Tower are clearly far better.

I liked the live poker room. If you played for 4 hours straight in the poker room, you got a $10 food comp which is one of the best deals in Vegas. And they still have that deal today. I like the sports book. They even had a decent little snack bar that made good food, if you were in a hurry.

I like the sliding board in the pool, lol.

And I used to like their buffet. While the buffet did not offer an enormous selection, the things they did offer where made well and tasted great. But, I suppose like most other buffets these days, it's not in operation. Im not going until this December, I'm praying they reopen their buffet.

For roughly 20 consecutive trips I stayed in the Rush Tower rooms at GN. I really liked staying there until I noticed that the property really starting cutting corners around 2016 - spa, buffet, check-in desk, drink service, VIP rooms, among other things. Still, the GN is a very, very nice property and, IMHO, the Rush Tower rooms are among the best value in all of LV - you get a whole lotta bang for your buck.

We've always stayed in the Carson Tower and really haven't minded it (although it's been a few years). This trip we're staying in the Gold Tower Premier King. Is there really much difference in the two? It was an additional $30 for our stay. We are too low on the food chain to get comps. Thanks for any feedback.

I have stayed in both, and do not feel there is mujch difference besides the longer walk to Carson. Because of the way Gold tower is laid out (just the 2 hallways), it is always noisy to me with people walking past my room and the door slamming. Carson has more zigs and zags and I just never hear as much hallway noise.

We stayed in a Rush Tower Corner Suite Sunday through Thursday this week. The room was very nice, clean and quiet. Check in took about 15 minutes at 3 pm on Sunday but the line moved quickly. I really didn’t notice any differences in service from previous stays. Dealers were friendly and drink service was fast.

When I became a downtowner, I stayed at the GN the first 3 times. Being cheap, I always got Carson tower. I ended up not liking the long walk to/from it. The last trip I stayed there, I woke up on the floor of my room just inside the door. I think I was escorted back to my room by the staff. Now I stay at 4 Queens. It's cheaper, less of a walk (stagger?), and I feel the odds are better there. The room may not be quite as nice, but I only sleep in the room, and I feel the 4Q staff is friendlier. I enjoy the dining at 4Q a lot. Nothing like Magnolias at GN. Golden Nugget isn't bad at all, just not for me. GN never gave me any offers that were good. Only free buffet and such. Four Queens keeps sending me 3 free nights & $200 of free play offers.

I have to say No. stayed at Golden Nugget for many years, thinking it was great. Took us branching out to realize that service was never really that great there. Even when we were somewhat regulars; the only viable gambling option was the Poker Room. Returned this past June after several years away. Stayed at 5 different properties that trip and GN was by far the worst experience. (Rush Tower). Only part of the property offering us good service was the hideout cabana hosts. I expect we would have got the usual good service at Vic and Anthony’s, but didn’t make it this trip. Stayed for the first time at Four Queens this trip and service was superior in every way compared to GN. Downtown; I definitely prefere 4Q, the Cal, El Cortez and Dereks properties.
