I have a reservation for a couple of nights in the Rush Tower at the Golden Nugget. Do they still have a dedicated check-in area, or do I need to go to the normal check-in spot for the Gold and Carson Tower guests?
I also read that they have a coffee/fruit bar for that tower, so I was wondering if that was still a thing? I'm guessing "no" since most casinos reduce service offerings as much as possible but thought I would ask those with real-world experience.

They have a check-in area, but it is seldom open.
I don't remember seeing a coffee bar.
The regular check-in area is now a bunch of self-serve kiosks and maybe one snail behind the desk.
Enjoy.

Also beware - we were downtown last weekend and my friends stayed at GN and used the check in kiosks bc there was no one at the desk. They checked in at 2:15 and were assigned rooms. At checkout, they were charged $25 for early check in. Apparently it is called out in the fine print on the kiosks, but I was standing next to them and it definitely wasn’t a pop up or anything obvious.

And these places wonder why Vegas is losing visitors…

Save more money by not having any staff at the check-in area.

Make even more money by tacking on pure-profit junk fees that are only possible through kiosk screen sleight-of-hand/trickery.

It’s the perfect scam!

Don't call out Flamingo like that :D

Not like they charge people more for early check in, than the actual room they booked is billed for...oh, and they also have a super reasonable resort fee...

Room: 19
Bill with early check in: 190

Well done!

Regarding the coffee/fruit bar, are you referring to the 'VIP' room opposite Vic and Anthony's perhaps?

  • Cromwell(?), Bellagio and DTG.
Regarding the early check in fee, I also was surprised to see that fee, but called the next day and they reversed the charges

The only places with fruit & coffee I know of is a Starbucks one is across the street from Rush tower towards the Carson tower (past the GN self-parking garage). The other is past the sportsbook to the left off Fremont St. The Rush tower check in I've only seen open past few years on Fri & Sat later in the day. Kiosk ask if you want early check in, it's cheaper to prepay for early check in. They normally do charge for check-in before 4pm.
