Has anyone done the "assign room and bed type at check in" option? I'm wondering how it's worked out for people.

I usually stay at 4Q or Boyd.

I wanted to book my next trip since the Nugget is doing a no resort fee deal right now. The cheapest option is that option at $59/nt.

I think it is safe to say you'd be getting a room in the Carson tower, which is the least desirable of the GN towers, yet the rooms there are probably better than many/most of the downtown Boyd rooms. Since single king bed rooms are in more demand than 2 bed rooms, you'll probably get a room with 2 beds.

I kind of figured it would be Carson tower. I'm used to staying at 4Q, MSS and Fremont so my expectations are very low anyway. It might not be worth the savings if I get stuck without a king bed.

We did the ROH room type several years ago, and we did get a king bed, in the Carson Tower.

Room was really nice, quiet, and bed was very comfortable.

Although, I'm not sure what they are like now.

Not much help, I know, but I think all the room types at the GN are fine.

I book Carson, use the $20 tip to get a Rush room. The are very very nice rooms! Bed is comfortable, a lot of pillows. Huge bathroom. And I noticed no noise at all from Freemont.

Pretty sure all of the Carson Tower rooms have at least been "refreshed" in the last couple of years. I'm guessing if you're getting it for $59 with no RF that it's mid-week? You should have no issue getting a king.

I have done that on my last three stays and we have gotten a room in the furthest tower from Fremont street and the casino (is that carson?)
But we have always gotten a comfy king bed.

No, haven't booked the "assign room" but did book the "no resort fee offer" for May 2020 in Rush Tower, for 4 nights 5.31.20 -6.4.20 $447.48 includes VIP check in.
However when I tried to book for New Years Eve Dec 2020 it would only give the assign room option, I tried several times. It wouldn't give me the option to select the Rush Tower for NYE, not sure why maybe because it's a major holiday. It did allow us to book for Memorial Day weekend with no resort fees, however we ended up booking for week after.

I can't wait to eat pizza @ Pizza Rock, have happy hour @ Chart House, drink @ Banger Brewery and chase the Royal @ MMS Boars Head Bar!!!

For all the fans of GN: They have, at least in previous years, a very good Cyber-Monday sale that will shave off quite a bit of your room cost well into the following year. I did this for many years and would usually save about 30%-35% on a Rush Tower room when I booked my next trip on Cyber-Mondays. Not sure if they still do this, last time I did was about 3 years ago, but thought I’d throw it out there for one of those FWIW type of things.

That works for me lol! I already booked it with the assign bed option for June and next December. I usually stay at Fremont so anything is an upgrade from there.

I checked this last time they did it, as I was going to rebook mine.

I compared the two, and it was more expensive than the price with a resort fee separate :grrr:

Thanks Mike & Marky, I will check the upcoming specials for Cyber Monday and hope for the 1/2 off suites Black Friday special again from a few years ago.

I didn’t realize doing the no resort fees means no internet or waters, blonde moment thinking I was getting something special!!

I’m sure I’ll be rebooking husband has to have internet to do payroll!!
