Back to the GN for our annual week in Las Vegas. We always stay at the GN because of the cleanliness and general sense of order in the property. We do most of our gaming elsewhere but make camp at the GN. We flew USAIR of out Philly and back and of course we were late, but safe in each direction. On the flight home my wife noticed her Tiffany Bracelet missing. When we arrived home there was a voice mail from the GN asking about property left in the room. They sent it FEDEx the next day. Gaming was not great this trip. I play V/P, Slots and Ponies, and the wife is strictly slots. I did hit my first royal ever at the Four Queens on a bartop machine. I drew the Ace , King, Queen, and Ten of Diamonds, and the Jack came up on the draw. For those of you old enough to rememebr the movie "The Cincinnati Kid", you'll understand the signiificance of the Jack of Diamonds. Also did a sidebar trip to the Silverton on the south of the south strip out by South point. It's a nice locals type place with a very decent buffet, good v/p, a neat aquarium and good drink service. We did an excursion to Laughlin which is kind of neat. The trip is now $ 5.oo with a free buffet at the Colorado Belle or the Edgewater. The edgewater is tons the best. The driver told us the trip is now down to three days a week and is in danger of being stopped. Gaming wise we actually did not do bad the GN. I love their Race and Sports book as I am a bit of a horse degenerate. They still do drink tickets but after a couple bets they fill you up for the day. One day I had thirty tickets in my pocket from five bets. Wynn does not seem to use drink tikets nor does Bellagio. Caersar's still does., but for me it's the best place to play. The Plaza is doing a bit of reconstruction, and you need to hike three floors for the privy. The property seems to be cleaner. Rumor is the Riv is the next demo on the strip. It looks weird with the big hole where Stardust was. Downtown is still our favorite place to stay. Did most our play at the Fremont , Main Street, and Cal. The Cal seemed best for slots this trip. Not a profitable trip overall but it's a vacation. Looking forward to the wife's next birthday and another week at the GN. Al
