    My Trip Report

I have been a lurker for a while now and have been starting to get brave and reply to some postings - I tend to be a little gun shy at first but love to meet new people. I was just in Vegas about a month ago and tried to meet up with @luck.ofthe.draw – sorry girl – got a bit degenerate at Park MGM and phone died. Really want to give a go at a semi live trip report if I can keep it going and get some traffic here.

Back story about me – LONG TIME Vegas lover. Used to go 2-3 times a year for years with my ex who is the only one I know that does Vegas like I do. Unfortunately, our marriage ended recently after 20 years together. We raised 3 great kids and have good relationship now– but my Vegas companion is GONE! If I do meet a man someday I have a deal breaker – MUST love Vegas – sounds silly, but it’s actually true. Vegas is my happy place, my little heaven on Earth. Have gone with friends numerous times, but they love to shop and walk the strip all day. No one in my life understands Vegas my way– but you all do ! I do love to pull away from gambling for some good meals and of course drinks..but being solo need to maintain some decorum.

Casinos - Cosmo (Gold member)– studio terrace comp Friday and Saturday night with a little Identity play

Mirage (Mlife Platinum – usually stay at Aria, but Mirage offered me $275.00 FP) have a comped a SUITE all for myself –seems a bit silly, but taking it! Sunday through Tuesday. – Definite pool time Monday.

This is the longest Solo trip I’ve ever taken and I really need to plan other things than sitting in the casino all day which is so easy to do. I have a bankroll of $500 a day which can last either all day or disappear within 15 minutes. I do also love 3 card poker as well (when I have a few drinks in me and venture to the tables).

This morning I need to tie up some loose ends at work - pack my car and then 4.5 hour drive to Vegas (I don’t mind the drive) - packed a little coffee maker and supplies (wine, champagne) to enjoy on the balcony

    TO DO:

Chandelier VP and my fave Old Fashioned and other Chandelier cocktail delights
OPIUM Friday night – will I be okay going solo to this? Not afraid of some raunchiness !
    The Henry for breakfast
Balcony time for some reading and libations
Walk the strip and try and hit the Titanic exhibit at Luxor – been meaning to see this for a few years
Javier’s for lunch at Aria - best margs ever!
Carbone for dinner one night (my absolute fave)
    Day bed at Mirage Pool
Try to hit downtown and check out the Downtown Grand
RiRa for their Fish and Chips
Finally take a peak at the Wynn (never stepped foot in after 50 plus times in Vegas) and get a drink at Parasol Down
G2E Expo (I got a free ticket somehow) possibly..not sure on this one

Over/under on doing all this remains to be seen. I am so excited! I hope I can maintain this report. It's my goal! I just love reading all your trip reports and want to return the favor

Seems to be a TON of VMB'ers in town during this time, message me if you want to meet up for a drink! Must remember – it’s a marathon – NOT a sprint ! Thanks for anyone that follows

    Glad you are sharing!
You and I have some similar Vegas likes ( Cosmo balcony time, mlife - the tower suites at Mirage are great, Carbone, Javiers). It’s also my happy place which is hard to explain to others who ask, you either feel the magic or you don’t. I agree it’s fun to do Vegas with others with like minded interests but I’m sure doing it solo has many advantages.

Re the bathing suit, there’s always Bare at Mirage, or hit the outlet or fashion show mall as you arrive!

Hope you have an awesome and winning trip!!

Hey looking forward to the TR. We have a similar backstory. I recently got divorced (about 2 years back - there are some posts on it), and my ex was the only other person I knew that did Vegas my way (actually until you put out the 3 kids thing I was wondering if YOU were my ex, ha!). Vegas was OUR place, we went several times a year and it was pretty much all we used our PTO for.

Anyway, since then I've gotten to Vegas a couple times solo (like you my friends dont understand Vegas like I do). The first trip was bitter sweet and a bit hard at times but I've grown to love Vegas solo. i still have my moments of wishing she were aroud for the companionship, but overall I always have a blast and look forward to the next trip. The thing I've grown to realize is Vegas is a GREAT town to just be solo and do your own thing. I'm to the point now that when my friends mention coming to vegas with me I do a little cringe internally. In fact I'm dealing with that right now for my trip in a couple weeks. Trying to keep it a solo one! (One reason i'm giving DT a go - I have historically only done the strip - but DT is less appealling to a lot of my friends, lol)

Following along. best of luck. Sounds like a great agenda!!

    Fuzzy

Good luck! Beautiful view and great place for a first drink!

I wish my wife appreciated Vegas the way I do. She'd rather stay home, but I do get out for a couple of weekends a year either solo or with my brother in law.

So my son got in a bad car accident and had to rush home. Fractured his ankle. Awful driving home solo 5 hours when your kid is injured Such a disappointment that my big trip cut so short but just glad that he’s going to be ok.
