As a born and raised and still a Chicagoan I couldn’t agree more!,
Alright guys and gals, sorry I haven't updated in awhile. So here goes:
Tuesday after checking in, went down to play. Met up with @Jer for some slots and VP. Nothing really hitting well. A few decent line hits on Dancing Drums but it would take it back. Played some VP and nothing great there either. We had reservations at China Poblano for dinner, so took a break from feeding machines to feed my face, lol. I had not had China Poblano before. It was amazing food! We got in just in time to order an app from the happy hour list, skme fried wonton. Then we got the tasting menu for dinner. So much amazing food to try. A few items made me with I was back in Hong Kong for dim sum lunch. After that went back down to gamble a bit more but didn't really hit anything. So to bed it was (after sitting on the terrace with a.drink of course).
Wednesday: Cabana Day!
This was my first time doing a cabana at the pool (and only my third time at a Vegas pool ever). It has forever ruined just going to the pool and sitting in a lounge chair. We had $250 of F/B to use. The cabana was gorgeous and the drinks were amazing. We got some complementary soda and water, and a complimentary fruit platter. We each got a breakfast burrito to eat and plenty of drinks. The Day Drink Believer (berry mojito) was my go to, but also had a Dole Whip 2020 and a Pina Colada. Spent lots of time in the sun and in the shade of the cabana. Its amazing how exhausting relaxing can be, lol.
After the Cabana we played some but nothing was hitting. So called it an early night and hoped for better in the morning.
I woke up around 6am and couldn't go back to sleep and decided to just get up and get going (we will see if I regret this later). Stopped by Eggslut to give it a try. It was early enough that there was no line at all yet, so I thought why not. It was a decent egg sandwich (I got the bacon egg and cheese). I wouldn't wait forever in line for it but it was a good breakfast.
Now to head down to the casino and see what kind of damage I can do. May play it slow this morning and try some bubble craps (my husband would be proud, lol). Hopefully can have some good hits on something. We have reservations at Wicked Spoon for 1pm, so I'm interested to try the new format. I'll let you know what I think.
Nice pics! It was wonderful to meet you two. Hopefully bubble craps and more lighting link treat you well!
Gambling today went pretty well. I'm not up, but played all day on the same $200. Never got to bubble craps, the slots were calling my name. And they were paying. Was able to rack up about 1200 TC today. I only need about 690 more to make Sterling. Don't know if I will push it to make it this trip...but atleast I know its attainable in the near future. Here are some pics of a few of the good hits.
We had lunch at Wicked Spoon. Was definitely a different experience but food was still good, and it really didn't take away from the buffet vibe. It was busy. We had a reservation which I'm not sure if was needed but the Identity desk recommended having one. If you don't know, Wicked Spoon has stations that an employee will hand you pre portioned selections of food. Its is a brunch menu and they are open Th-Sun 8am-3pm. Here are some pics of food from lunch.
We are now back in the room relaxing. Gambling started taking money so we decided to take a break. I'm trying to be good and have some self control this trip since I have two more yet this year. May go down again in a bit. Also thinking Secret pizza is going to happen. Getting the munchies from the contact high due to our neighbors on the terrace.
Check out day at Cosmo Sad to leave the terrace but was a good trip. Also said goodbye to mom for the trip and have the next two days solo. Decided to play a little more at Cosmo this morning since I was only about 600 points from sterling. Played some slots and had some decent hits but eventually that died. I was determined to do this on as little money as possible. So I went to VP. Mom and I found a machine that was 7/5 BP so I went there. And was able to get the rest of my points being only down $20! Had a few good hits on VP, although as usual always kit AWAK on BP, and not DDB
Woohoo - Sterling! Now I'm enjoying Wicked spoon half price on comps before heading to Bally's.
Good stuff so far! And good job being disciplined not to play that bonus feature, trying that it ate my money fast. Doh!
Calling it an early night. Gambling at CET just isn't working tonight. Tried some VP, Pai Gow, and Bubble craps. Bubble craps was the only thing going OK, but was there over an hour and no cocktail service (at Ballys). Saw cocktail waitress down by the table games but nowhere up on the level with bubble craps. So drinks in the room it is. I am very proud of how much self control I have had this trip.
I did go over to Paris and talk to a host. I have a stay booked over Halloween at Paris but wanted to see of the Halloween Mystery Free Play offer I got would work with it. Unfortunately, Paris was not on the list for eligible resorts. But the host moved my stay to Ballys and added the offer for me. Offer gets me at least $60 free play, but since its mystery it could be more. Also get in to the costume contest over at CP. Should be a fun trip.
@smbrake Wait, you can get wicked spoon half price for one using the bogo?? Did not know that!
I'm back home so it's all you now girl! Got get em tomorrow!
Have a great remainder of your trip, @smbrake! Sounds like some great times are being had so far!
Decided to head to Blu Pool this morning (to keep my degening at bay, lol). Got up a little early to grab a Nutella crepe from La Creperie, YUM! Always have to have at least one crepe while I'm here. And now I'm chilling at the pool. U wanted to get down here when they opened cause I wasn't sure how busy it would be. So far not bad, but we will see as the day goes on. Was able to find a nice spot in the shade. @Astribling definitely missing the cabana though, lol. They also don't have any in water loungers which is a bummer, but oh well. Now to relax!
Drink by the pool, ahhhhh.
Looks like the pool got a little busier since you got there. But not bad for a Saturday!
There was never a line getting in, but if you came in late finding a lounge chair was damn near impossible.
How was the pool with masks? Did they make you wear it at your seat?
It wasn't the worst with a mask...but would have preferred not. Ballys seemed fairly lax about mask at your seat. Cosmo was much more strict to have it on when at your seat and even in cabana.
Had some decent play for awhile on Dancing Drums this afternoon. But I got too excited playing and ended up walking away with less than I'd like. O well, here to play right. Had some good bonuses (one of which was a 5 drum bonus for $88 scatter before the bonus even started!).
I then wandered over to Linq Promenade for some Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips, YUM!
Played some VP after dinner. Was able to play for quite a while on $100 before heading up for the night. Leaving tomorrow afternoon. Have a late check out so I don't have to worry about checking my bags at the bell desk at all. Let's hope for some winning in the morning before I leave!
Enjoy your last few hours!
It's the final morning. Going to do a little packing so I'm ready to go when its time. Then head down to have some breakfast and play a little more before leaving. I still need that ROYAL! Sad to go, but will be counting down to my October trip.
