Speakeasy is a great pro tip, I had no idea of the scene there and I've stayed downtown 30+...its on the to do list

Lunch. Lappert's Kuaui Pie. I dream of this stuff.
Coffee ice cream with coconut, macadamia nuts and fudge ripple.
I haven't had any food yet that's been great so I figured I'd go with a sure thing.

    Cali room service:

    Only between 6:45am - 11:30am (breakfast)

Charges? She wasn't sure but said there's an 18% service charge...aside from tip. [IMG]

We had the same experience at MSS buffet last month, prime rib looked great at the carving station, too tough to chew. Left mine on the plate.

Loving this report... i really like when someone goes on a long Vegas trip - I could never do it but like when others do! Love a report with pictures...I am hoping you get a big win early to carry you through the whole trip!

Heading to the Container Park just to check it out...and Le Thai for dinner. I'm hungry! A scoop of ice cream doesn't carry me all day.
I thought about Socho Sushi at Carson St and 6th. Has anyone tried this place?

We usually do six weeks. We do have downtime when we don’t gamble and eat at off strip places. Next trip is six weeks, and it’s been 18 months since the last one. I would say we live like locals for about half of our trip.

I'm sitting at an aluminum table and chair in the back of The Container Park. The chair is very comfortable. It's 74 degrees and actually a tad cool in the shade with a hint of a breeze. Families abound as a band prepares to take the stage. It is comfortable and serene. The vegetables and beef from Le Thai ($12 comped) is fantastic... about time I got a good meal. I'm in blissful heaven. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Evidently this is "Jazz Session Sundays" at Container Park and the group is 'Suave'. A bit more traditional than The Speakeasy with a bit of a Latin twist. Excellent...and I highly recommend if you're in town on a Sunday around 5:00pm.
Note: I stumbled into this. I was just looking for a nice place to eat my dinner al fresco because the evening is so delightful.

I am just curious what kind of drinks did you have at the speak easy?
One of their specialties or did you drink the JW black?

Loving the report so far! Thank you for posting the Cal's room service menu as well. I will be going out of my way to stay at the Cal next trip because of that.

Hope the VP turns around for you! :)

[QUOTE="smerrian, post: 1914093, visit to the Mob Museum's speakeasy for one of their 1920's cocktails and jazz music by The Shaun McGraff Band...code word: canary, for free admission.[/QUOTE]

Can I ask, is the code word always the same or does it change daily/ weekly etc?

I've only gotten this far in your report ( so far) but my goodness it just sounds epic. I was hoping the kinky bingo would be while I'm there but nope. I've been to Hamburg Mary's in the Tampa area so much fun. Didn't know there was one in Vegas, so thanks for the info!

Have a great time, looking forward to seeing you! And now to read the rest of this awesome report!

I actually paid for drinks in LV! Actually, they were original and I paid for the experience.

I was told the password changes every Saturday. They let me in on Sunday without knowing the new password without charging me. There is NO live music on Sundays!... Just on Th/Fr/Sa.

I'm trying to move my clock as I have so much to do this trip and a 3am-9pm sleep schedule doesn't fit. Today was better... asleep at 11pm and up today at 7am.

Today I'm moving to the 4Qs. I'll be there 4 nights. I actually paid for these nights ($158 total with casino rate) so I don't mind under playing them which I will have to. Bad news, campers, on the gambling front. -$1,800. That's my budget for the whole first week so very little gambling the next 4 days.

After switching hotels l plan meeting up with @Scott Blair at the D. Nice family man from New England. Loves pounding the vp machines for hours at a time.

Later I plan on meeting up with @Astribling at Bally's/Paris for a DL visit.

Yesterday was a 'dry' day because I can't drink everyday for 3 weeks straight...well, not if I want to respect myself in the morning.

Yesterday food was Lappert's ice cream (TWICE!) and some great Le Thai eaten al fresco. Seems to be the best food downtown is outside the Fremont St Experience on Fremont St East and a block away on Carson St.

That speakeasy looks great! As does the vegas food :) Hope your gambling luck turns shortly! 4Q's is always kind to me on the VP front.
