We all know the "real" part, believe me. But, being able to play a long time on X amount isn't the worst vs. just feeding and nothing frickin' happening.

    Great report and great times.

Gaggles’ vegas trips need to be turned into a reality show. Someone here has to know someone who knows someone that can make this happen.
And this last season has such a cliffhanger, would he make it home or not in time.

Great trip report Gaggles you really know how to do Vegas right. Your endurance and your ability to write a coherent real time TR with little food, sleep and alcohol consumption is very impressive. I am enjoying your TR so much that I am conflicted as to whether I want your trip extended or not. Either way I am hoping you get home safely and a big winner.

Great report. Hopefully those hits at the end of your trip brought you back to respectability; if that's possible. Hopefully, you've made it back to Canada.

@Gaggles a little loop hole here for you. My company and all colleagues are based in Winterpeg, and as such spend their GD winters in Hawaii as a reasonable person would do. They are not able to get back until after this cutoff date and there is a loophole (as a worst case scenario!) I do not know all the details, but we discussed for 30 minutes during our Sales meeting (as you would) about this fine print about "moving" to Canada and they've worked a deal with Uhaul that if you rent it in the USA you can then drive it ONE WAY across the Canadian border and quarantine at your home instead of the hotels they have setup. Obviously we are rooting for you to just get your damn test and fly back, but you could in theory (and I think you'd agree it s a better options than Hotelrison back in Canada! and much faster). Just tossing that out there to ya to calm yourself a bit in the event. you were getting antsy about the tests coming back. Cheers and godspeed!

Obviously you'd change your flight to the closest border city that has them available .....

Okay everyone, we almost have another addition of Gaggles Vegas Over Time as sometimes seems to happen on my trips. Though this OT is neither wanted and caused worry. I am currently in the airport and I just want to get home. I have a little time to explain and I should probably do so before the grease from my Popeye's dinner kicks in. Admittedly, I did NOT need three sides with my three piece meal. But I have not eaten much this week.

So as some of you may know, I went and got my PCR test at the very responsible time of 9:00 am on Thursday for my Saturday afternoon flight. This would allow for all kinds of delays etc. As of my bed time last night, which was also a very responsible 1:00 am...maybe 1:30....I still did not have my test results back. I called and emailed yesterday around 5-6 pm and figured they were on the way. Well I had a brutal sleep worrying about all of this and I think I only actually slept about 4 hours. At 7:00 I got up and called Phamatech. And I called again. And again.

Now late in the day yesterday I began to consider the harsh reality of needing to get another PCR test to fly out tomorrow. I had priced out another one and was truly looking at extending my stay for a day and catching a late afternoon flight back to Canada that would see me arrive at 11:45 pm....15 minutes before the 22nd and the ridiculous Covid Hotel quarantine that I still say is a violation of the Charter. But...I had a plan. I had another back up plan that would potentially see fly to Great Falls for a pick up. Maybe renting a U Haul would have been a plan!! I like it.

So, with no PCR test, and no way to get on a plane, I decided to gamble!!!! hard to imagine right? I checked out of my warm cozy room and took the car rental back to the airport with my flight departing in just under two hours. I was hoping against hope that Phamatech woulf come through at the last minute as I had phoned them 9 times by now and left three messages. The irony here is that if I did not receive the test results, I'd have to go straight back to the car rental place and rent a car again to drive back to the hotel and get another PCR test. While all of this is going on a very empathetic JR was texting and was quite worried as she wants her Gaggles home.

So I am logged on to my computer refreshing and looking in vain for my test. Then the phone rings. My flight departs in 85 minutes. It's Phamatech!!!! Apparently they sent my results last night at 1:00 am and I was clean. So she sent them to me again. And again. Then she called her manager at home and they tried to send them to me. Well my Hotmail account wasn't getting anything. Think Gaggles!!! So I texted JR who was thankfully right by her phone and had the Phamatech lady send them to her Gmail account because something was wrong. I was about to get them sent to my work email when JR advised she had it. The Phamatech lady was also going to text them to me but I am told texts and screen shots are no good. Airlines want the emails.

So my lovely wife, who already let her dirt bag husband go to Vegas to blow off some steam for four days, comes through with the test. Great! I have about 65 minutes now to get my boarding pass and this is all taken care of right???

    Oh...not a chance....

So...there's this thing called "ArriveCan" that you can fill out in advance or when you land in Canada. Last time I filled it out when JR and I got back. It's a minor pain but you can do it right at the airport on your phone or computer. Well American will not let me board until I fill it out. I try to explain that is not a pre-requisite but she is sayin it it. My plane is going and I am getting agitated but there's not a thing I can do. I can't take a photo of the App to download from their screen or their photocopy I try the email address and it wasn't working.

I tried to get it at the App Store. That wasn't working on my phone. The internet in that part of the ariport is sketchy. She is adamant I am not getting a boarding pass without those documents for the Canadian Government. Why does American need to see my filled out documents?? F+CK THIS C+++D SH+T. Now she is talking about booking me on another flight to Dallas because the clock is ticking. JR is texting.....I think I saw a bear attack someone at the Delta counter. I am sure a meteor was rocketing towards the parkade outside. I tell you it was nuts!!!

Well I created an account. I did the damn paperwork on my laptop after I found a better wifi spot away from the ticket counter. She hands me my boarding passes. It's 10:00. My flight boards in 5 minutes. I haven't cleared security and I have to take a tram. Does this seem stressful to anyone besides myself?!?!?!!?

Well then I leave a water in my carry on so I get my bag checked. I miss the tram and have to wait for another one. I get behind a lady in the security line with passport issues to I go to the other line. Ummmm...lady in wheelchair getting searched and line not moving!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Despite this, I am barely swearing under my breath and I assume I am not getting this flight. I purposefully do not check my watch as that will add to my stress. But I am running through the airport to make it. With a mask, a headache, and after 4 days of binge drinking, and on 3-4 hours of lousy sleep I am going for it.

Well good lord if somehow I made it without about 4-5 minutes to spare! WTF?!!? I call that a win! And then I had a row of three seats to myself!! Another win! So I am in Dallas right now and waiting to board.

How do you like that story!?!?!? It's like Vegas was doing everything it could to not let me get out of town with their money!!!! Felt like a scene out of Casino.

I will follow up with more stuff and pics etc but for now....I am tired and we are boarding shortly. Long flight to Calgary and I hope I can sleep. Thank goodness I don't have to work tomorrow.

I feel like I am leaving some stuff and some details out about last night but I wanted to get this story out to you guys. It was VERY stressful. Feels like my side trip to Laughlin was a whole different trip! I am still very glad I went though and not just because I locked in a nice little win. I just cannot sit around and cease traveling. It is just not in me to do so.

I also have a nice little present for JR, who is a very cool wife.

So happy for you that you could catch your planned flight. I’m sure you were very relieved when you finally sat down in your seat on the plane to get home before the dreaded quarantine in Canada begins. Always love your trip reports and happy for you that you had some very nice wins. Your wife JR is a rockstar!
