Stopping for food before a drink to Lake Powell I’ll put way more up later but VMBers, this place is amazing. We went on a big hike early in day. We took a wrong turn and did the 4 mile hike vs 2. Whoops….

Worth it.

We took the kids to Zion and Bryce in ‘95. They loved it. Did you see the sign stating that Bryce is actually not a ‘canyon’? Did it remind you of the ‘hoodoos’ in BC/Alta?

Those hoodos in Alberta are like Kids Table at Thanksgiving compared to Bryce. But yes, hsbe been to them.

 

So we are at Lake Powell. Enjoying a nice night so far at the Resort Marina. I have a nice view of lake, have ordered a beer, food is on the way. JR not hungry so making herself pretty after a sweaty hike snd travel day. Fancy as she is she said “We need to get to Walmart tonight for booze and floaties cuz I’m getting Lake Drunk tomorrow” she is just so much fun.

 

Lake view and a couple shots of room. Room pretty standard but the grounds hete is what you are paying for.

 

So, I do t Jane my glasses on and I hope we do t hd e too many repeaters but here are some more Bruce. What a great day. Bike hike was Sunrise Point to Sunset point. I think if you were gonna do that hike I’d start at Sunrise cuz it’s longer on the way down. Sunset is shorter and steeper on way up but we found that easier.

 

Trip back up was cool

 

A couple other cool vantage points and we are done. One of the coolest places I’ve been.

As a typical fly-in-fly-out tourist... wow these pics of the canyons really really motivate me to go to the canyons. Just beautiful!

Amazing pics! I did a short hiking trip in Zion a couple summers ago and this makes me want to go back and see more of the area.

 

Today has been a super super long day. We bought booze and floaties last night for a beach day but a beach day turned into a Seadoo Day in Navajo Canyon. Just a fabulous one.

The deal in the Seadoo was okay but AZ lake standards. For four hours it came in at $275 or about $315 with taxes. Gas, even though it was 6.35/gallon at marina, only came to about $35.

It was JR’s big drunk day and she did not disappoint. After that fourth 12.5% cooler she was sweet, condescending, friendly, pouty, fun, grumpy, challenging of my manhood at times but never a quitter. She almost fell getting off the Seadoo at the end of the day and when we squared the account but as akways, so awesome to be adventuring with.
If any of you were wondering…yes…she is passed out right now.

I would also like to add that I did not have one drop of adult liquids while driving. At dinner, well that was another story.

 

Leet’s just say it right now, the owner of all this has too much money.

 

It was a day of in and out of the water as we zipped around a surprisingly empty lake. At times we were alone in huge chunks of the canyon and the lake.

 

Afterwards we had a fabulous dinner at our fav restaurant in Page. Absolute BEST Strawberry Daquiri I have ever had. And that ice cream, oh baby!
