    My Trip Report

This isn't MY trip report, but my parents just got back from Vegas a few days ago. They haven't been in many many years, so it has been a while!
Well, they fly standby and flew to San Jose out of DFW, stayed the night and then took a flight from SJC to LAS the next morning. Got a room sat the Flamingo. They paid $75/night and she said the room was beautiful and large with a view of Ceasars that allowed her to see the penthouse suite!
Well, my mother went to vegas under the impression that she was going to win "the big one" and bring us home millions. (I told her she coudln't do that!) The 2nd day they were there, her horoscope said "play the Monopoly machine". She went downstairs to meet my father and happened to see a monopoly machine that was sitting there all by it's lonesome. She started to walk towards it just for the heck of it and she was going to play it. Right before she got to it, 2 young guys sat down, played $1 and hit $250. She was sick over it. She kept saying "but that was my horoscope money!!" I think she even told the guy who won that too. She said he couldn't believe it.
Then, the next day, she drops $26 not on a table, or in slots....but on the floor somewhere and lost it. During their stay they pretty much broke even (which I think is great...if you come home with no less money than you came with! Especially since all they played were slots and a few Blackjack hands).
The flights did not look good for the ride home and my mother is a nervous flyer anyways, the war thing just made it worse so they decide to rent a car and drive home to Dallas. It was only supposed to take 1 more day.
Well, she calls me the night after they left LAS crying hysterical that they were stuck in a snowstorm in New Mexico! There was no where to stay as most hoels were full. They finally found somewhere in Santa Rosa.
This is the kicker -- the next day after crossing over the Texas border she got her very first speeding ticket! 82 in a 70 -- $130 fine. My mom is 60 and this was her first ticket!!
She said that yes, they broke even but spent over $500 on the way back home. [IMG]
She is convinced she has the worst luck -- but they plan on going back in July. This time they aren't flying, they're driving the RV!!
    LMAO!! [IMG]

*eek*! I am glad your mom is not giving up hope on luck. She just had a bad streak, I wish her lots of luck next time she goes. [IMG]

P.S. Maybe the guy who won the $ on the Monopoly game shared her horoscope. He may have shared the same zodiac sign as your mom. ;)

OMG. When I was younger I used to go skiing in New Mexico every winter. My Mom also got her first speeding ticket at the New Mexico/Texas border. I think it's a speed trap b/c there was also cops there, but she learned her lesson the first time. She was so made and irritated at him (who gives tickets for 10 mph over???) he ended up tacking on a fine for not wearing a seatbelt.

So, everyone be careful if you're speeding there!! :D
