Hi all, we played craps last time we were in LV and enjoyed it mostly apart from one bored dealer with a bad attitude (Bellagio). Any recommendations for a fun game of craps ie where etc? Sort of know the rules but could do with a tutorial as we go along!

Bills offers great table minimums and a fun atmosphere. Drink service is great and the tables are close to the washrooms (which are also really cool).

The problem you run into is that the most 'fun' tables aren't the tables to get the tutorial. Because fun is usually full, and a full table has fewer opportunities for learning.

Here's what I recommend. Play some early in the day -- a lot of places have morning classes. But even if they don't, the tables tend to be slower and there's plenty of time for learning. I recommend a mid tier Strip property...NYNY, Monte Carlo...something like that. The limits will be lower, so you'll get more play for your money and can really figure things out. Ask questions to the dealers...tip with a couple two way bets, and they'll be more than eager to help you.

After you get that down, move to an evening game anywhere on the strip and you'll find plenty of action. Fun will be if you're winning...nothing better. But if the table is cold, there's nothing on earth that will make it fun.

    Isn't that the truth.

The original poster never asked about table minimums. But if you are just learning then you don't want to toss tons of money on the table.

It might help (and i would love to know) table minimums. Who has $5 during the day and night?

    Or $10

NOT SURE THAT YOU CAN FIND TOO MANY SUB $5 GAMES ANYMORE. We did 3 years ago...that was it.

The only craps under $5 I've ever seen on the strip is Casino Royale.

You can find $5 games at Excalibur and Tropicana most days, and on weekdays or in the mornings you can get $5 games at NYNY and MC. The MC goes to $10 pretty early on weekends, but they give lessons in the morning and open a $5 table for the newbies right after that.

MGM usually has a $10 game...never seen it go to $5. Might even be hard to get $10 on a fight night or concert night.

I mostly know the south strip. I've been at Mirage when there was nothing lower than $25 :confused2: But that's unusual...it's usually $15 at night at busy places.

If Downtown is in play, I am pretty sure I saw $3 minimum at either the Cal or Fremont this past weekend. Don't recall which; would have been Sunday night.

Excal and IP have $5 tables everyday. They may go up to $10 on some evenings though. Many of the mid range casinos on the strip will also have $5 during the day. I know I've seen $5 at Harrahs and Ballys for example. Again though, once you get ~4pm and later, those are likely to be raised.

    Casino Royal always has $5 tables(also a $3 table)

Plenty of options downtown for $5 tables

Bills had it for $5 even in the evening, but that was on their electric table. I don't robert the real table game limits.

Bill's will usually have at least one $5 table in the evening and two isn't unusual.

    Define fun.
Is it an empty table or a full table?
Is it low or high limits?

I can have just as much fun with an empty table as much as a full table.

A lot of times, the "fun" can be determined on how hot or cold the table is.
