From Laughlin to Downtown Vegas Help

Hello,
We will be driving to Las Vegas Nov. 13th from Laughlin, NV. We changed our original hotel reservation from Harrahs to the Plaza downtown, since the Marathon is the day we arrive and we didn't want to deal with all the traffic and strip closure.

Now, I find out that 95 N will have many ramp closures as well. The news said it didn't effect downtown, but not sure how to get to the Plaza now, coming from Laughlin.

Anyone know of an alternate route we can take. Possibly Boulder Highway? I-15? Any advice sure will be welcome. I'm stressing all ready. LOL

You'll be coming in on 93/95 which becomes I515. You'll be exiting before the area of the construction. Could there be backups due to the construction impacting that route? Pick any route you want, and the answer would be maybe there will be backups due to construction, but at least you aren't passing one of the construction areas. You could take Boulder Highway which becomes Fremont St. Obviously that will have a lot of local traffic on that route.
 
You have to find out where the closures will be. You can get off any off ramp on the 93/95 or I515 or take Boulder Highway, then take a surface street north to downtown. You can even take the 215 in the Henderson area and get on the I15 and get off at the Charleston Blvd west Exit (going past the north premium outlet mall) if you want to avoid the "spaghetti" bowl area where all the roads meet.

You have a lot of options but it all depends on where the blockages/closures will be. Luckily you are travelling on a sunday so hopefully the traffic might not be so bad. Also depends on what time you arrive, if you arrive in the morning/early afternoon you might hit the marathon traffic.

We definitely want to avoid the spaghetti bowl, so would Boulder highway or the 215 in Henderson be the best route? We will be arriving late morning, probably around 11:00am. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding out where the closures will be, especially since we are no longer familiar with the Vegas roads. Haven't driven to Vegas in several years, that's why this is confusing to me. LOL Thanks for any input and I appreciate your help.

Thanks for the map. According to map quest (it totally confuses me) I will take 95 N to exit 75 (Downtown) and a previous poster said I would be exiting to downtown before all of the ramp closures. Channel 8 news said 95 N and I-15 N would not be affected both directions for Downtown. However, that is where I am getting confused. Okay, I admit, I don't do well with maps or freeways. LOL I really appreciate everyone's help and input here. You all are awesome.

However you get there, and if you self park, park on the 3rd floor as far north as you can. This level is connected to the casino so you don't have to use the older garage elevators.
 
If you are coming in on 95N, you should be exiting before you get to the closures from what I can tell. If the downtown exit is going to be closed there should be signs telling you before you get there, but it sounds like that exit (75) will be open.

The problem looks to mostly be getting from I15 onto NB95 from what I have read.

Hope they make it easy for you. :)

Thank you for the help again. I am hoping exit 75 will be open and I agree, it sounds like it will. Another person replied to my post and stated I would be exiting before the closures and I bet that is the exit 75. And we will be coming in on 95 N so I think we will be okay. I will keep my fingers crossed. LOL

If you have a smart phone, download the Waze app. Great app for cities. Users update traffic backups, road closures and best routes. It's pretty easy to use but I would practice before arrival
I've used the app in NYC, Boston and SF with great success.

I have downloaded to WAZE app and I am trying to figure out how to use it. LOL Any helpful tips will be greatly appreciated. I did manage to get turn by turn directions, but I want to know about the ramp closures or specifically if exit 75 will be open, to downtown.

Work with fastest route from Laughlin once you have route input search fastest route it will update as you drive and other user input will advise best route if your preferred exit is closed.

Good luck the app is very intuitive
 
Just take the downtown exit off 95, Make a left at the first lite, proceed to Ogden take a right, when u come to main take a left, 1 block You will see the Plaza on your right drive past the
front take a right at the grey hound bus sign takes u right to Plaza parking ramp! Best of luck!
