Last year we park at a paid open air parking and walk a little bit to Freemontstreet.
    Are there better closer options?

Park at MSS on the north side of the casino. Its a parking garage. Grab your ticket. Go play at any table and get your ticket validated, or eat at the restaurant. Otherwise its a measly $5.

Can you get it also validated at the main street buffet?

With the recent parking procedural changes I am not sure how the parking works at the Cal and MSS. Previously it was around $5 to park at the Cal and MSS but there have been changes so not sure if the price went up or if there was a time limit on how long you can park.

If you eat at one of their eateries at MSS and the Cal you should be able to get your parking validated but again it depends on the new procedures. If you put in a certain amount of play you also can get your parking validated.

Not sure about GN, yes you can tip the valet for parking at most downtown casinos but not sure if they require play or eating at their restaurants or if there is a fee for parking.
