4 of us are going soon, just wondered if anyone have combined their freepay to get a decent win, between us will have about $250 worth, plan is to use all on the same machine? Has anyone tried this? Always sceptical the machines are programmed to pay out less on freeplay?

MGM freeplay is done differently than other casinos. You enter 'freeplay' mode on the machine and the screen counts down as you bet. If you remove your card the remaining freeplay stays on your card, it isn't "downloaded" to your machine the way other casinos do. You must also enough of your own cash into the machine to cover the bet you're going to make ($1,$3,$5 etc)

Lets say you have $10 in freeplay that you want to play on a $1 machine. You put some of your own money in the machine first, then you enter into the freeplay mode in the on game screen. Now you push the spin button. $1 comes out of your own cash that you put into the machine.
Now it's a losing spin.... the machine acts like you won the amount of your bet (it dings and everything) and your cash balance on the machine goes up by $1 and your freeplay remaining on the screen goes down by $1.
Next spin is a winning spin.... the machine acts like you won the amount of your bet + the amount you actually won. lets say 3 mixed bars = $5 win.... your cash balance goes up by $6 (your win+your bet) and your freeplay goes down by $1.

Any anytime you can pull your card out of the machine or just hit the button to stop using your freeplay and go back to playing regularly.....

Though it is not "downloaded" like some casinos... it is downloaded one spin at a time using the login process as you play.

As to using freeplay - the machine could care less. No way are they programming it special. Treat it just l like cash.

By the way, more than once I started my stay with freeplay and did not dig into my pocket for a day or two. Other times it just as could have been thrown on the floor.

I did have one time that I stayed up past midnight to play a $200 FP coupon at Cherokee. Second spin on a $5 Top Dollar I got all three Double Diamonds for $20k. All I kept saying was HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT until some woman said I could stop saying it - LOL!
