Trips to Las Vegas
100
On my last trip to Vegas, I found several free evening (starting after 9PM) lounge acts that I really liked.

Who would you recommend? Please include all categories (singers, bands, DJ's, etc). Both on and off Strip. Please include performers that move from place to place on different nights in addition to those in the same place every night.

(Sorry, title should have read ""Who do you like")

Vegas Limit is one of the best I've seen in a long time. They usually play Monday and Tuesday nights (@ 10pm-2pm) at the Mizuya Room at MB. They only play from requests and most of the music was classic rock from the 60's forward. Played a cover of Boston's "More Than A Feeling" that was unreal. You can see some of their videos on Youtube and I usually check their FB page to see which nights and times they're playing.

I think Paris has live bands every night now. Mostly play kinda pop-funk.

Bally's used to have bands most evenings, but they were dark the last time I dropped in. Same with Planet Ho, except they seem to be off more than they have been on.

1 of the bands that has regularly performed at LeCaberet (lounge in Paris) is JAMM. For old Skool "pop-funk" there's no better band, IMHO, than JAMM. First saw them 5/6 years ago in the Indigo lounge at Ballys. I've seen them perform at the M Resort and the last 3/4 years at Paris. They do requests ( sang happy birthday to my daughter 2 years in a row) and they are as friendly as they come.

Would that be these guys here? They didn't seem to mind me getting very up close and personal with a camera.

I honestly don't know the names of any of the bands there, but I do know that it's usually a pop-funk kind of band and that it will be good and very dance-able.

Good thread. Specific tastes in music genre/bands/singers can vary but I'd love to get recommendations for nice lounges in general that have live music at night.

I don't know the name of any specific acts, but I've always found the Golden Nugget to have some pretty decent lounge acts in the evenings...

I can second the funk band at Paris. They were fantastic. AL thought it is free, Ithink they have a two drink minimum. Otherwise you can also just stand outside the lounge and watch as it is open to the casino

  • Mini trip, post busy work winter: Fey & Poehler and Mad Apple

I can vouch that they seldom if ever enforce this. They also say no outside beverages but I've walked back in there with a casino drink and they've never said anything. There's no bouncer/host at the entrances and there are a few different ways to get in there.

Do check O'Sheas & Ballys--most bands are really good but they change frequently. Usually there is a calendar posted near the bar.
I always enjoy the band at Paris.

Rush Lounge @ Golden Nugget has live entertainment every night, iirc.

No cover, nice vibe, and Julianne makes some great cocktails :drunk:

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. Here are three acts I checked out on my recent Vegas trip. All are very good. Hope you catch them on your next trip.
Laura Shaffer (aka NightingaleLV)
Status The Band
Lydia Ansel (DJ who also plays the Electric Violin)

If you do a Google search on their names, you'll find links to their Facebook/Twitter accounts, which are constantly updated including where they will be appearing soon.

Cool - I really want to see Laura Shaffer one of these days!

  • Summer reboot!

Yea, I remember the lounge act at Paris now. I have often positioned myself on slot machines near there to listen to them.

The lounge act at Orleans last night had quite the crowd as it had 3 sexy female singers and the lead singer had on some tight blue leather pants. That's all I know about them.:p

They are called Dollface and they are back at the Orleans tonight (2/4). I have not seen them, but heard good things. Search "Dollface Las Vegas" for more info.

I really enjoyed the 'house band' at Rose.Rabbit.Lie at the Cosmo (does that count?). The band looked like they were having a blast, smiling and laughing as they played, and man could some of the gals they called out sing!!
