    My Trip Report

My wife and I decided to fly out to pick up free play spanning October and November offers. The breakdown is below and is for both of us combined.

    Four Queens - $880
    D - $300, Free Play and $400 match plays
    Binions - $90
Golden Gate - $60 free play and $25 match play

The intent was to pick up the free play and hold onto as much as possible while not gutting our offers.

Day of arrival we checked into the D which is where we stayed for the entire trip. We went over to 4Q for the 1st batch of free play and played several hours of JOB with almost no fluctuation. Cashed out after losing about $50 and never had to put money in the machine. Dinner was "supposed" to be at Hugo's Cellar but my beloved Astros went to game 7 so we got Coney dogs and ate in the room while watching them lose the game in the late innings. Called it an early night and went to bed knowing that the trip was going according to plan.

Day 2 is when things got crazy. We played a lot of hours at the Vue bar and I hit a royal for $1,362. Ok, pressure is off and now we can plan on playing to our normal volume. I'll put some pics below this post but I flopped the royal. Only the second time that has ever happened. I think the odds are astronomical and it took my brain a beat to register why the machine had stopped working. Dinner was at Andiamo and was good but we didn't order the right way and it could have been better.

Day 3 was at 4Q's and was not going at all according to plan. All of the free play was gone and I was into my wallet for the next $100. For those of you that don't play 9/6 jacks.. this is a statistical outlier. You just aren't supposed to drop $500 in a day very often. It happens but is not normal. We had just switched over to 10/7 double bonus to catch some positive variance (hopefully) About 15 minutes at the machine and I am dealt the JKA of clubs. Hit draw and up pop the TQ of clubs for another royal. I told my wife that we just need to target another royal the next day...... We had dinner at Hugo's cellar which was fantastic as always and tried the kona coffee experience. We've never done that before and I would highly recommend it. Not only is it good, it's like a science experiment at the table.

Day 4 was another day back at the D. The match plays didn't go well and we only cashed up $25 between the 2 of us. The free play ended up disappearing but got in almost 8k of coin in before that happened so that is not a bad thing. We decided to head up to the Vue bar to check the value on the meters. The royal had worked back up to just over $1,600 which looked awfully tempting so let's just see. I sat at my favorite machine (where I hit the royal 2 days ago) and after about 30 minutes was dealt 4 high clubs. Hit draw and the T of clubs fills in another royal which was worth $1,623. What an amazing run. My wife hit the straight flush later in the evening for $153. We closed out our Vegas trip with another dinner at Andiamo which was fantastic. I think the food was better but maybe it just tasted better after an amazing run of luck.

I'll post pictures below. Hopefully this was a quick and easy read. The only thing that could have made this trip better would have been an Astros win on the 1st night.

What an incredible run! Congratulations! I was chasing those Royals at GG. Glad someone cool hit them. Your progressives were so high that you actually hit 3 royals for the price of two. This is the best VP story, I've heard in a while. I love your strategy as well. Things would have had to go super bad for you to lose money. Nice that it went super good.

Thanks for the thought, but don't hold your breath. We may have hit the VMB Vue bar Royal quota without me.

Congrats on the Royal Flushes!! That is amazing good luck. And as far as the Astros are concerned, they probably would have won if their manager knew what the hell he was doing. Pulling Greinke after 80 pitches in Game 7 and going to the bullpen, after using 5 pitchers the night before in Game 6. :bang:

    Congrats on all the royals!

I was at Andriamos the same day as you, and was playing at $ Queens while you were!

Sadly I didn't hit anything at Four Queens, but those royals were great for you!
