    Hey folks,

I'm not a craps player but saw the ACG "Free buy bet on 4 & 10 on craps table" coupon and was looking for a more knowledgeable player to explain this one to me.

Ummm...what is a free buy bet? Am I the shooter playing the pass line and if 4 or 10 show up before the point or "the dreaded number that shall not be named", I get paid? Or no?

Just want to figure out the best way to use this. If they let me decide when to play it, I assume I want it down when the point is anywhere but 4 & 10 spread out the chances I win. But again, I don't know crap about craps, so I could be way off here.

A buy bet is a type of bet. You bet on a number coming (just like it was the point), and get paid true odds if it hits.

But the bet has a commission (or fee, or vig) of 5%.

A free buy bet means you don't have to pay the vig, so it gets true odds.

I think Nevyn already nailed the answer
    but
what does the coupon say in the fine print?

would be great if you could post a photo of the actual coupon

By the way, I think someone else already posted about that coupon saying they tried to use it and Downtown Grand gave 10 bucks free slot play instead. Ill look for the link

So it's basically saving a dollar if I bet $25 on the 4 or 10, right?

This past weekend they did give free slot play in place of the craps bet. Between the ACG and LVA coupons, I got $35 in free slot play

Most of last year Downtown Grand had the Free Buy bet on the 4 and 10 all day and night- no coupon necessary. Looks like they recently got rid of the promo.

I don't mind playing craps but I would rather have the $10 free play. I hope they are still offering that at the end of march when I arrive.
I hope you won something nice on your $35 FP. it is always nice to hit something juicy on your FP.

I was there in December and asked about the LVA coupon at the slots club. The attendant said that they weren't legally required to honor it but they were giving ten dollars free play. When I asked what they meant by a free buy bet on ten and four he said that they didn't know and that whoever wrote the coupon didn't tell them. Is it in the 2017 book?

Anyone know if you can more than one of the free Ace coupons on one trip? Coupon says one per day. Does that mean people can use two or three over weekend trip?

That's how I would interpret the coupon. You save the dollar commission you pay for the true odds payout.

So when the casino offered $10.00 FP in place of the coupon I think that's a pretty good deal to me. Especially if you're not a craps player, at least the coupon netted you something.

Agree. $10 in FP is worth almost $10 in EV. A free buy bet just saves me $1 on a bet I shouldn't be making anyway.

Curious about this myself. This is a great offer if so.

That's more valuable, actually...$10 slot play is worth about $8 in hard cash if you play it in Video poker.
That coupon is only saving you $1 I'd guess. (I don't know the limit, but for a $100 buy it's $5 vig..but you still are RISKING $100)

The coupon is super vague, so I was hoping it was more like it brings back their free buy-bet promotion for you while you're at the table, as in it would be good for a period of time, not for just one bet. But yes, if it's just for one bet than $10 FP is better.

I am assuming that is why they discontinued it. Confusion at the tables. Has to be a real gong show to try to keep a table moving while explaining to people how to play the coupon and what it does.

if it was only good for one free "buy" payout, that'd be the worst coupon ever
and very likely you don't ever get to collect anything
