I'm headed to LV next week and wondering if they still have Free Bet BJ at GG? If so, have there been any changes in the rules or payouts? Thanks VMBers.

Mike- last time I was there, they did. H17, 3:2, 2deck, DAS permitted...same game is at the Plaza as well.

They changed both tables to a shoe game rather than double deck. But both tables were still 3:2,

Were they still $10 min? I don't think anyone has $5 FreeBet anymore.

This is correct. It was DD in 2015, but on all of my subsequent trips, it's been an 8D shoe.

It's always been $10. The only $5 Free Bet table I've seen was 6:5, and at the Casino Royale.

    Plaza's table is still 2-deck... $10 min... 3:2, DAS.

Fortunately 2 decks has less of an effect in Free Bet BJ since splits happen more with more decks, an 8 deck shoe would only add 0.07% to the house edge vs double deck.

Not specifically at the Golden Gate, but I've played both a double deck game and 6? deck game downtown. And I actually prefer more decks because of the increased chances of getting free bets as you said.

Plus I've had more success in the more decks game.

Breeze, pretty much like regular BJ but when you get a double down or split opportunity the house puts up the extra bet, in the form of a special chip. The downside is that 22 is a push. Its a fun game and can be an absolute ATM, providing you get a lot of those freebie bets and win them.

Mike...I've been thinking about this & it occurs to me that hitting your 12 against a dealer 2/3 might not be the "correct" play with the "22 push" rule in Freebet.
I'm off to see the wizard...I'll report back...

And now, although I would like to play Free Bet BJ, it takes me too long just to dust off my Basic Strategy for normal BJ, as I only visit a casino once a year. Trying to learn FBBJ strategy as well might cause brain pain . Maybe I will try to get the charts down, and give it a shot, next month.

Best wishes to all. Mike have fun at the GN.

Before I mastered basic strategy by memory, no one ever gave me trouble for using a chart at the table. I suspect that if you print out the FB adjusted strategy charts, the same would be the case for you. The worst they can do is say no, and you put it back in your pocket.

I say print it out, see how it goes, and report back with your photos of all the chips you won.

How silly am I? I never even thought of printing out the charts. I am down with that, and just might do it. I don't do it with BJ, as I learn the Basic Strategy for it, but I suppose I could get the charts for it, too. As you say, worst they can do is say put them away. Thanks!

I saw someone recently post a picture of a set of those wristbands like an Quarterback would wear, with the strategy charts inside of them. For the life of me I cant remember where I saw it.
