Does Las Vegas do anything special on the 4th of July? Parades, fireworks, events?

There should be fireworks but it's a relatively new tradition and not a big to do like other cities. The bigger celebrations are offstrip in the neighborhoods.

I was amazed at how little is done for the fourth. We were there in 2015. We had dinner on the top of the Palms at sunset. By 9:00 or so there were three or four displays of firewworks that we could see. They lasted about 30 minutes. That's about it

Caesars will have fireworks but they're on the 2nd, not the 4th.

I wont be at home. at home, it seems I never do anything for the 4th. that is why I decided to go to vegas for the 4th.
not so much for the fireworks, but just to be doing SOMETHING for the holiday weekend for a change.
I would like to take 30-60 minutes or so away from my gambling to watch some fireworks though.
I have heard that you can go to the top floor of parking garages to see fireworks from various places.
I will looking for more info on that.
