Trips to Las Vegas

I'll be at the 4Q in a couple weeks, and I've heard that some or all of the rooms have been renovated or are in the process of being renovated. I've had good luck getting suites with the $20 trick in the past, but it's been a while, and I don't know which rooms I should be asking for. Is one tower nicer than the other? Which rooms are quieter? I'll be there during the week, so stage noise may not be an issue no matter where my room is located. Any thoughts?

I stay there a few times a year and prefer the quieter rooms. The north tower is right on Fremont St., while the south tower is away from Fremont so south tower is quieter. In the south tower, the even numbered rooms face away from Fremont, so those have the least noise from Fremont St. I always request south tower/even number/high floor. Those rooms do, however, look onto the Downtown Event Center area, so any events there will be at full volume.

The south tower also has some renovated rooms--not sure where they are. The front desk will know. The renovated rooms are a bit nicer, but they were done with pretty cheap materials and are not aging well. And why on earth didn't they change those drapes during the renovations?

I don't agree with that assumption. There is loud music at the nearby stages just about every night. This is more of an issue for the North tower which is closer to FSE.

Thanks for the help. I'll try for south tower, south facing, high floor and hope for the best.

I was there last year and did the $20 trick. I got the same basic 2 queens room with an upgraded rain shower head glass enclosed shower, nicer sink on the 20th floor with a great view of the strip.

I agree 4Q use to be quiet but with more and more concerts happening even the south tower can be loud. Don't waste your money on the renovated rooms they are pretty ugly, no pluses for amenities and not larger. The north tower are only double beds the South tower does have Queens.

I don't mean this as a slam I like 4 Q and stay often but just realistic. I wouldn't waste the 20 the difference between the north and south tower is only $10 a night.

I stayed last week in the South Tower on floor seven. Room wasn't renovated, but was quiet. I've also heard the upgrade at 4Q isn't worth the $20.

When I stay in Vegas, I only sleep in my room so I don't need anything fancy. I prefer the 4Q because of location and no resort fees.

The only time I've been genuinely successful with the $20 trick was at 4Q; I got a Spa Suite in the North Tower. I'm not concerned with the noise, because I am usually making it. :headbang:

Anyone know how much self-parking is there? and how much valet parking is?

Expedia said there was a cost but didn't say how much. I wasn't able to find any parking info on their website

I had the same question a few months ago, and there was no charge for self park. I don't use valet, so cant comment on that. I do have to say I will try to never stay in the North Tower again. The window in my room was crooked, and would not close all the way at the top no matter how hard I tried to jam it closed, so the noise leaked in all night long. Also, the North Tower rooms seem small to me. Might just be my imagination, but I seem to remember the South Tower rooms being a little bit larger.

Self parking is free if you're staying there. I know they charge a fee otherwise, but I'm not sure what it is.

I was at 4 Queens today wanting to play the quarter 10/7 DB progressives along the wall but it's gone. I asked one slot attendant who said they got rid of it. Another slot attendant said it will be relocated. Anyone know about this? I hope it's not gone.

$20 trick for an upgrade to a suite, sure, but to be upgraded from north tower to south (remodeled tower) not worth it.
come to think of it, I may try that the next time.
BTW... has anyone gotten 4Q offers for July / August?

YIPPIE! got mine in the mail today. 2 free nights and $30 free play for July / August. decisions decisions.

Got the same offer yesterday also. I wonder if it is just for a particular tower or can you choose the south tower, remodeled rooms?

You guys getting free rooms can probably request the South Tower. My offer was casino rate, so I would probably have to take whatever. But I was off the mailing list for some time, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I will, though, if those 10/7 DB machines are gone. :grrr:
