Last year I had copied the list from a VMB post, and had Topaz as the lowest and Pearl second to lowest. The other gems listed match up. I get the Pearl offer and it usually is a free night if I buy a night at a 25% discount. I had Topaz listed as only a 15% discount. My notes are pre-pandemic.

2,000 points per day is where I believe the double diamond level is.

In June, July, and August, I stayed 3 nights each and did the 4000 point summer offer, and that was enough for DD for Nov/Dec.

Over 9 nights, I did about 15k points, so if 1666 average a day is enough, you could probably go lower than 2000. But maybe they do other calculations in there. A couple of those days I did 0 points, and one I did 4000.

I talked to one of the hosts about the various levels and he tried to be helpful but I got the impression that it isn't all that straightforward. I'm all for an opaque players club because it gives you one more way to gain an advantage if you can figure it out. Most people won't bother. What I gathered from our chat:

(This pertains to out of state, in state is different. This also involves some interpretation. I need to experiment more to verify)

They use a 3 day expectation so if you play 3 it is what it is, if you play 2 it's those points divided by 3 for daily avg. If you play more than 3 they drop the lowest day
Using comp points without playing does not trigger a gaming day

    Open questions I have:

I am checking in on the 30th, do I need to target 4,000 points on that day since I'm only playing one day in Sept?
How many points daily allows me to continue staying in a suite? I don't like the standard rooms and would stay elsewhere.

Regarding the suite topic, I booked 4 nights this time and the 4th night is casino rate. Paul told me they would comp it at the end which is nice. The side note I learned is that the casino rate on suites is actually very reasonable and I wouldn't mind doing that and using my comp account to cover. I build up comps faster than I can use them so not a bad usage at all.

Looks like I might need to re-examine how I approach playing and using offers at 4Q/Binion’s if that 3-day expectation is in place; I wonder how drop-in play (no stay) is factored into calculating offers :hmmm:

We might need reexamine our point requirement assumptions for each offer level if offers are generated based on expectation of 3 consecutive days of play.

How about those who stay and play just two nights?

It sounds like the total over two days is divided by 3 to generate daily point average for the purpose of generating offers. I'm curious to see if that lines up with people's experiences, i.e. 4000 points over 1 or 2 gaming days generate same offers as 4000 points over 3 days.

I'm skeptical. There are a couple 4q experts that aren't chiming in, so you'll have to settle for me as the devils advocate.
My only 4 day stay, they didn't drop the lowest day. My highest play were days 1and 4. 1 host saw 1 and another 4, but one high play day dropped off and my offers cratered.

I knew a father and son who claimed to play the same amount. Father had a room and played 3 days. Son played 1. sounds 2 d and father was 1 d.

I rarely have p!ayed at the levels that hosts read off as qualifiers for my offers.

I play less at biniions than 4qs, but my daily coin in is higher at binons as were my offers.

I would like to offer hard numbers, but my notebook was stolen last trip and I don't have stats for my last 4 trips.

It is possible, and even maybe probable that someone staying for 3 days has a3 day divisor. I don't know this to be true, but I play at least 2 and usually 3 days at qqqqs.

I know someone who claims to play 1000 pts a day on ddb and says he is suite comped diamond 2. I believe him. My comps rarely make sense if I ignore the extra coin intro db and ddb play.

I've met some people on this board who know precisely where there cut offs are. They aren't currently participating in the discussion, and ill probably withhold judgment until they do.

I know what has worked for me but I have a feeling I am playing higher than necessary for the comps I want. I'm ok with that as I enjoy playing. The most recent round of comps defied what I though I knew. I played one day at Binions over the summer. 2,000 points on that one day but that put me at $400 FP per month on the new offer. My wife's card has significantly lower play than mine at 4Q's and she is now at the $600 per month level. We did max her card out on the summer offer but I'm pretty sure that was over a 3 day time span so 4,000 points in 3 days. I'm baffled by hers but certainly not complaining.

It does seem like there is some part of the system that isn’t straightforward. Had a buddy do the summer promo with me and we had the same play profile: never gave 4Q serious action before. Usually $5-10 while stopping to eat at Magnolias or Chicago Brewery. Both paid for our own rooms up front since we had no offers. Both did the 4,000 points on $5 JoB hands in one day. He got D2, I got D1. I got what I expected, so I’m happy but we can’t figure how he got the top one.

Our best guess is there is some time element to the days they’re factoring in. By that I mean, it’s likely our only difference is that I visit Vegas more often, so my last drop in with minimal play visit was probably 3 months before our trip and his was 6+, maybe 12.

Yep agreed, I was the same as you -- I'd drop in to play a few slots, use some points. When they did the 300 point promo, I would hit the 300 and then stop. That hurt me in terms of future offers.

So when the 4000 point promo rolled around, I just played the 4000 over 3 days each in June, July, and August. I think that was enough time to drop the low play before then and bump me up for the Nov/Dec offer.

I suspect you may get D2 for Jan/Feb, provided you don't low play until that offer arrives.

I made D2 for Sept and oct. After 4500 pt stays in late July and early Aug,, I dropped to D1 for Nov/Dec.

When I stayed at the D in mid-July I played two days at 4Q (Tuesday/Thursday) for a total of 1,009 points (mix of $16 and $8 a point VP). My Nov/Dec mailer bumped me up from Pearl to Ruby (2 nights, any day of the week and FP doubled to $40 each month). 500 points a day was higher than my previous trip. I also am curious about this '3' divider revelation. Does it only apply to players staying at 4Q on a room offer? Also, in the past there were comments that 4Q used average of last 4 gaming days or last 2 gaming trips for determining gem category - is that still a criteria? If 4Q really divides by 3 even if you play only 2 days, then the impact of a 3rd, low play day, actually would increase your average.

Sounds like playing one day is better than playing 2 or 3 days on a trip after reading a lot of your replies. I did binions (first time ever playing there) july 5th and got 2,500 something points (I know how many because I got 250 in free play all together) and for my first ever offer gave me 400 free play for nov/dec. I hope it was because it was a one day play that gave me that offer and not from being a first timer playing there. 4Q I made 700 points and then the next day redeemed 70 free play after rewards club opened (thats how I know I made 700 points) and got sent 20 free play for nov/dec. I was at $300 free play for my first ever offers there from playing a lot (did not keep track of points my first time ever playing in there last year) and then because I did not get that many points and used mostly the free play from end of month play and beginning of month play during a trip, got bumped down to $40 free play, then no free play for august september october. Memorial weekend when I went in when I had $40 free play, I did not play much and played 2 diff days during the trip. My dad wanted me to play some bubble craps with him and lost 300 bucks on it which I could of used in the slots and could of gotten a lot of points.

This is why I am thinking one day of playing at 4Q and binions is better than playing more than 1 day during a trip. I just hope the binions one was not a big offer due to being a first timer there.

Yes, the 4Q offers are hard to figure out sometimes. Since we have become regulars, our play is always consistently the same. We stay there three or four nights, and always put through about 7k to 8k each day (All on JOB). Our level is Emerald and gets us $200 FP each offer period. I do think they give a little more FP for new members. And if you stay 3 days, you better play 3 days.

For a single days play, 2,500 pts is what the hosts have listed as the D1 criteria. The first timer benefit is that they average previous play and many of us had to overcome low play histories to reach the higher offers. I'm not sure how much you'd have to play in a single day on a 3 day comp.

Do you stay weekends? I seem remember you mixing in ddb wit your job play. A lot of people are getting suites with less than 2500 pts. i know one that plays a 1000, but its $16000 coin in. I can often get a week day suite as D1 because my race not coin in looks good. Week ends are more hit and miss.
