    My Trip Report

Just back from a three day stint in Sin City. It was a solo trip to clear the mind and to try to break my royal flush cold streak from the last two trips. The flight from Miami last tuesday was uneventful, but it was a good idea to take an early morning flight and arrive in McCarren by noon. Normally I arrive in the evening and wind up playing until the am , leaving me partially exhausted on day two.

    Day 1.

After fetching my rental car , I decided to head over to the M resort as they are promoting a $200 rebate for new members. I signed up for the players card and was told that the rebate wouldn't be immediate, but I would receive an email at a future date as to when the rebate would be available as free play. So if you are an out of towner, your screwed. I was told it would be better to just win. I decided to take them up on the challenge. I wandered around for a few minutes but couldnt find any open seats at the 98% VP machine bank, so I picked a random 9/5 DDB single play machine on the floor at .25. I put in a $20 and played down to $5 when boom ....4 Aces with a kicker. Wow , Nice start...I got up to cash the ticket and turned around to take a pic but some chinese lady cut over to the machine and put in her ticket. Really....of all the empty machines she had to pull this quick one......I wished her rotten luck and wandered back to the 98% bank. I put in a $20, and after a few hands hit 4 Jacks and cashed out. Decided to leave at this stage and took the coupon I was given for a free gift as a new member to the VIP lounge. I was given the choice of a M resort T shirt or Polo. Ill take the Polo ...thank-you.....I then took my winnings to the nearest ATM and made a deposit.

Headed to the Main street station for check-in. Stopped in at Blum dispensary on the way for my medicine to help me combat Las Vegas Insomnia Syndrome.

Check-in was routine. At least the issue with the parking lot has been resolved as you only need to use your room key to get in and out of the automatic gate. I was given a quiet room on the 9th floor facing away from the highway. I could actually get some decent sleep.

I played at the full pay bank of VP machines but couldnt hit anything, and no luck at the Boars head Bar either. I had a $10 free play coupon at the Plaza. So I took a stroll over and gave it a shot. After getting my free play loaded I walked over to what I thought was a VP machine and loaded the free play. I tried to find VP games on the machine but it was keno. Shite, I dont ever play keno and couldnt do anything else but use the free play. I was drawn to the caveman keno and popped open the game. Well, I have no clue what I was doing so I hit max at $4.00 to get this over with. I picked a bizarre design of squares and hit play.....I saw my squares being hit and wow.....ended up with $208.00 on freeplay ....not bad for a mistake....sometimes it does pay to make mistakes.

Cashed out and headed over to the ATM and made another deposit. Day one was looking good...Im sticking by my guns and being a disciplined gambler.

    Day 2 -

Early morning start to the day. I readied myself and headed up to Fiesta Rancho for a VP session. Uneventful, and only managed to keep the bankroll intact. Decided to go next store to Texas Station. Enjoyed their breakfast buffet and also tried VP on multiple machines hitting only two four of a kind with Jacks and Sevens. Morning bankroll was about gone...stopped at one bank of VP on the way out and saw the DDB progressive as at $640 for Four A's with a kicker......time for a hail Mary....took my last $12 and fed it into a machine. First few hands nothing , nada, zilch. Down to the last $4 , then boom....yes, Four Aces with the kicker....no way....couldnt believe it......took $500 to the ATM for another deposit.

Afternoon session took me over to Boulder Station. No big wins but managed to pull $276 from a crappy Triple Double Bonus on a Four Aces draw no kicker. Kept the afternoon bankroll intact.

Headed to El Cortez where I also was booked for 3 days. I was given one of the newer remodeled tower rooms on the 14th floor. Nice set up and enjoyed the room. Siegels 1941 restaurant did have good food options. The only drawback for the tower room is the noise coming from Fremont street goes really late into the night, so bring earplugs.

Went down for an evening VP session and saw the bank of DDB progressive was at $1600 and decided to give it a go. First few machines acted like a hoover vacuum with no payback. Moved onto a different machine then boom....Four Aces with a kicker! I feel I am now on a heater....played a little longer then decided to head back to Main street station where I know I could sleep.

After making the walk back to the Main street, I wanted to give the full pay machines one more try. I decided to try double bonus although it is one of my weaker plays as I have a hard time with the play strategy. I started playing and was at least getting a few flushes and three of a kinds that keep me playing. About 20 minutes in I was dealt four to a Royal. No.not again. Probably the fourtieth hand of four to a royal, but no royal. I waited a few second before I hit that last button...then boom. Royal Flush!

Finally, after the last two trips of no royals, it finally showed up. I cashed out and called it a night.

    Day 3

Made the morning deposit to the ATM and headed out to Rampart Casino. Although they had 9/6 DDB machines I couldnt hit a single four of a kind. Went next door to Suncoast and no luck there either. Today the gambling gods werent smiling and I gave back a few hundred in winnings. All in all it was a winning trip. I hit 3 - Four Aces with kickers and 1 Royal Flush. Finally I kept my bankroll and had extra money in my bank account. Thanks Lady Luck for smiling on me.

I attached a few photos of the money shots below....

Congratulations!!! I'm curious what bank you use? I love the idea of making deposits but I bank with Citi and I'd have to go the branch on Paradise to make deposits, which I sometimes do. If I could do it via an ATM on the strip that would be great.

Thanks for your replies. I also get a great deal of useful intel from this board and Im happy to share at least a winning trip. Wells Fargo and Bank of America have ATMS in Las Vegas where you can make deposits.
