Whose ready for another theme-less luxury resort with poor gambling rules and expensive food and drinks?

I'll take whatever it becomes over the cavernous shell that's sat there empty for years!

Does anyone know anything about the new owners? I see the names attached to some high end NY real estate projects but I've also seen it mentioned online that they were in timeshares?

I must admit any Casino in there even one I prolly will only check out once is better than nothing at all. The more Casino's the more competition. Perhaps some of the less glamorous strip properties Like the center strip properties from the Casino Royale to Bally's The STRAT and the SLS hell maybe even the Tropicana might improve their gaming options a bit.

I can see a mix use of hotel & condo. The owners have a background in real estate but nothing with casino operations so I wonder if they will outsource the casino operation, maybe Boyd  or Penn National  I also wonder if these owners can qualify for a gaming license, but then again they are from the big apple so maybe their consigliere can make the LV gaming commission a deal they can't refuse. :stir::hmmm::evillaugh:

I'm fascinated with what they have planned. Especially for the casino floor area.

I imagine cet and mgm aren't happy about any increase of room capacity as it has taken over a decade to get the rates above where they were pre economic meltdown.

I am excited to see this project get going again. I've had a thing for Fontainebleau ever since my first trip to Vegas in 2011

Yes, yes, yes-agreed. I like most everything about "not MGM or Caesars." I like your excellent trademark.

I know what you mean, but it's nice that it's not Caesar's/MGM.

Its going to millions to get that place up to date. After all is said and done it will be a 1 billion dollar investment.

Yep. That's why it tanked in the first place and why it took a minute to sell. It's going to take some savvy moves to recoup the investment in a reasonable amount of time but these guys may actually have the case to stick it out.

It's the big and tall empty shell of a tower northstrip near the empty pit formerly known as the Riviera and across from the empty pit that will one day be Resorts.
