    My Trip Report

Wow, I can't believe that in a week I will be on a plane from upstate NY going to Las Vegas, NV to celebrate my 40th birthday with my twin sister and husband. :p This has been a long, anticipated vacation since I have not been to Vegas since April 2002.

I booked the hotel (Monte Carlo) back in February and the airline tickets in March. We are there from July 5-11. Per person including taxes it was $570.

Some things on the agenda are:
    Fremont Street Experience
    Eiffel Tower or Stratosphere Tower
    Harrah's Carnival Court
    Elvis at Barbary Coast
    Purple Reign at Boardwalk
and of course gambling, drinking and some good food.

One of the main reasons I wanted to go to Vegas for my 40th B-day was because I have told my husband for the past few years that I wanted to celebrate turning 40 with a drink in my hand and gambling. Even though we have various casinos in NY there is just no place like Vegas.

    Here I come! LOL

Kathy, you are gonna have blast!! And I agree, there is no better place to spend your birfday. So here's to you and your birfday  Just make sure you keep a few notes so you can write up a trip report when you get back....and we also like pictures. Be sure you go out to the "Welcome to Vegas" sign on your birfday and get your picture taken.

    Have a great time :)

    Go, Rusty ;)

I can vouch for that! Birfdays in Vegas are the best! I am lucky enough to have been born during March Madness so I had a heck of a party this year!

    Or so I'm told! :haha:

Thank you both very much. I am so excited that I started packing some items last night in the suitcase :D

My hubby is getting real excited too! As for my sister, well she started a new position where she works so she has not had time to think about it but she said once her foot lands on the plane she will be excited. Our only problem is that each one of us wants to sit next to the window  so my compromise is that I will take the window seat when we leave Vegas (which will be at 12:10am on the 11th).

I always keep a steno pad with me to keep track of our activities for the trip and my gambling ventures. There will be a trip report shortly after I return for sure.

My camera consists of those pocket ones you buy in the store but my sister has a kick butt camera with all the gadgets so we hope to get some great photos.

We also hope that the drinks will be plentiful  and some craziness will occur :goofy: but nothing that will alert the police to come get us :haha:

T-9 for me... I'm going for my b-day too, July 7 to 12, staying at Treasure Island.

Here is some of what we have planned:
    B-day dinner at Delmonico
    Jubilee
    Circus Circus Steakhouse

We also hope to take in a few 1/2 price shows by getting same day tickets.

In the meantime... a few more days at work.... then the 4th of July holiday.... then it's off to Vegas!

    I'm packing!

Just went to the bank to get my traveler's checks. I don't leave home without them. :haha:

Trying to pass the time here at work. The radio station is playing some really good tunes (70's/80's) brings me back to my "youth". I have to remember that I'm turning 40 a week from today :p but honestly feel like a 25 year old. :wink2:

Started some packing but I still need to get a camera, lotion, smokes and a few other items. I need to pick up the STAR magazine. I love to read the smut in there and their crossword puzzle is awesome.

Everyone enjoy your 4th of July weekend. I hope that I have a doozy of a trip report to tell when I get back.

Have a great time!! I celebrated my 40th last year in Vegas!!! My Mom and I said we would do it and we did, left hubby at home with my two daughters, we had the time of our lives!!! It was also Mother's Day weekend so it was twice the celebration. To top it off, I won the Royal Flush on my favourite nickle video poker machine on the way out the door to the airport, a cool $615.00 which converted into Canadian dollars was a greay payout....

Have a ball, enjoy every minute of turning forty, the anticipation is far worse than the actuality!!!

Thank you everyone! Tomorrow night will be hard trying to get a few winks in before heading off to the airport. Flight leaves at 6:15am from Syracuse which means that we will head out of the house by 2:45am to pick up my sister who lives about 10 minutes up the road and then unto Syracuse.

Went to Walmart on Saturday and picked up the lotion, toothpaste, etc. I have my reading material. All set to go.
