Flight from hell and a thank you to Ms Gecko

Ms Gecko and I arrived home around 2:30 Saturday morning after eight semi wonderful days in downtown LV. We were supposed to have gotten back around 7pm on Friday, but horrendous storms in the Atlanta area initiated a total ground stop. After going around in circles at the AL/GA border, we were diverted to Jacksonville, FL where we sat on the tarmac for a couple hours before getting to a gate. Security made it impossible to deplane if we intended to get back onboard, so we sat in our seats for a couple more hours. After waiting in the cue for refueling, we were once again stopped right before takeoff due to storms between Jacksonville and Atlanta. Finally, after a rollercoaster flight and over 10 hours stuck in our seats, we made it to Atlanta after 1 am. I've never seen the Atlanta Airport so busy at any time and really pity those poor people trying to make connections. What a zoo! It wasn't anyone's fault, just one of those weather things.

With all that fun behind us, yesterday we booked another eight days for May; and due to Ms Gecko's generosity (and Platinum Medallion upgrade coupon), we'll be flying first class for a change. (I'm not sure how I'm going to handle an hour in the Crown Room before boarding, with more free drinks on the plane, on the way to the Land of Free Drinks!) Anyway, this post will serve as my official THANK YOU to Ms Gecko.

Wow! I think I'd go crazy trapped on a plane for 10 hours, most of which not going anywhere. Sounds like you two deserve those first class seats next trip! Enjoy!
