I have the option to book with points a GO Luxury 2 queens at the Flamingo vs a Studio Suite at Palms Place. I need an advice, second time in Vegas. I know Palms is off strip, I'll be renting a car for trips to Valley Of Fire and Hoover Dam and I also know there is a shuttle to the strip from Palms and also Rio & Gold Coast. And of course, I like the Flamingo option because of the location, but I think the room at Palms Place is better, but you help me. What is my best option??

I can only speak for the Go room as I haven't stayed at the Palms, but if you can get past the elevators (which are rumored to have been fixed), the rooms are great. I wouldn't stay in their base room, but a Go Room is a solid choice.

The Palms suite is a far better room, personally I would bite the location bullet and stay at Palms every time given those two options.

I stayed in a Go a couple months ago..I mean, it's fine, but it's a mid-tier room in a low tier property. A lot of stuff in the room didn't work. No batteries in the remote. The advertised in-room sound system was just...gone. Scuffs and marks on walls and wallpaper. Many lamps and bulbs non-operational. It's just not a well-maintained property.

You'll be in a cab or Uber for more of the trip (assuming you hang on the strip), but the Go room isn't in the same class as the Studio suite.

I would chose the Palms in a second. Gold Coast and Rio right across the street and an easy drive to the Strip.

Same here. We are strip people and want to walk directly from elevator to casino, or drinks, or food, or walking to other casinos. I love a great room, but no way I want to deal with shuttles or car.

I've stayed in both and in fact last summer I stayed in both the same week. Personally I'd take Palms Place every time. However since it's the OP's second time in Vegas then he'd probably want to stay on the strip. I stopped staying on the strip a long time ago. Love renting a car and not being chained to the strip. I stayed at the Flamingo for part of a trip last year since it was my son's first time in Vegas. Staying on the strip is cool for awhile. Palms Place rooms are great. Spacious. Great service. Access to both the PP pool and the Palms pool. Affordable gambling. Shuttle to/from the strip. The Go rooms at Flamingo are decent. If you are staying on the strip it's a good choice.

If location is that important, pick another hotel on the strip. Otherwise go with Palms Place.

Since it's just your second visit, I'd stay with the strip (@Flamingo). I didn't start venturing to off-strip properties until my 3rd visit.

Flamingo. All the time. Unless you think you wont have a good nights rest or the toilet/shower wont work. A room is a room (to me). I just need it to be "clean" and a working shower/toilet. Its nice being a a 3 min walk to the Strip from room to street rather than having to plan to a route/schedule to get from Palms to the Strip. I just enjoy the convenience of being steps from the Strip and not having to depend on transportation to get there.

the elevators were changed on the outside at least as of this weekend. I didn't get in one but I noted the destroyed faux gold covers were gone
