Went Golden Gate and redeemed $25 MP; played this at 3:2 double deck BJ $25 per hand. Bought in $150 cashed out $225. Craps tables were full at $5. Rewards desk told about using boarding pass at The D for FP and also that had $10 food comp there as well.
Did not stop at Golden Nugget but can hit on way back through.
Now at 4Queens and redeemed 2 for 1 entree coupon at Magnolia for dinner. Hope they will do the 50% off rather than 2:1. Ordered NY strip and going to get bread pudding for dessert (craving sugar). Lots of tables open and craps at $5. No plexiglass. I did have to do temp check at GG but not 4 Queens. Food looks good going by...
Was planning on VP here and look at BJ situation.

@World Book - Great reporting! So glad you found some 5 dollar tables down town. So many reports have listed $10 tables or even $15 at GN. There is still hope for all of us low rollers.

If you stay later in the evening at the D and Golden Gate, they have dancing dealers. It's a bit different, but it has that Las Vegas vibe.

I've heard so many good things about Magnolia's that we may have to check it out.

Four Queens-no plexiglass; no temp check; craps $5; played Silver strike and got seven coins

The D: temp check: no plexiglass; redeemed AGC match play and Richard match play; would not let me do Spirit boarding pass as not within 24 hours; played BJ, bought in $200 cashed out $415; craps $10

El Cortez- on recommendation; no temp check; plexiglass in use; definitely an acquired taste I presume; a lady hit for jackpot on $.05 DDBP and was spitting actual nickels by bucket full?!; I have never seen an actual coin machine in use; played single deck BJ at $10 a hand, lost buy in $100; craps $5

Fremont- plexiglass and temp check; $10 craps

Binions- no temp check; no plexiglass; craps $10

How did you get the Richard match play? Did you actually call him or did you ask at the players club.

Just ask at the players club with your players card.

"El Cortez- .... definitely an acquired taste ....."

Amen. That rhumy cough there used to add to the ambiance, now it screams chain-smoking and Covid are going to kill me and I just don't care.

Thank you for all the great info. I'm using it to plan my trip in October.
We always play for some silver strikes so glad to hear they are still there. Getting harder to find lol.
I grew up in Atlantic City casinos and remember having to carry the plastic cups of coins for my stepdad after he would hit. Back then Bally's AC let us kids on the floor to watch parents play slots we just weren't allowed to touch anything.

Enjoying your report! The angles and views of Circa construction from your room are neat, a different perspective. Also the info from each casino is helpful for those headed out there. Looks like a fun time and keep the wins going.

After Binions ( love the woodwork) last night, came back to Plaza and played 3:2 BJ at $25 per hand. Bought in at $500 and had table to myself mostly...other players buying in and dropping out. Was approached by Aquarius, host at Plaza. Very nice...asked if had host and said yes. Chatted for a while and would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for host at Plaza as personal and chatty. Finished up at +500. Had run up to +1k but couple of bad shoes and time for bed. Took pict of nighttime view from room.

Sometime between 2AM and 5AM, my phone did this really weird reboot sequences and was completely black when checked it. Thought maybe it was dead and was trying to figure out how to get a new one when it came back up with Android screen that looked like when your computer is forced shutdown. So miracle that didn't have to get new phone!
But while worrying about that missed my early wandering time. However, I can report that Plaza pit open at 6:00 AM.

Had breakfast at HHGG with food comp. As always a lot of food! Now back upstairs to prepare money and coupons if needed. Also I have a complete unused ACG and a second one with just couple match plays gone if anyone wants? Will be happy to share....

One of the Silver Strike coins is from St. Patrick's day 2020...can only assume loaded into machine prior to shutdown and sat there. Made me have a heart bump moment when saw it. The moment just came as I thought of impact of shutting down LV for all those months and what the still deep quiet must have been like without the music, lights and chatter as constant background. Even at the wee hours of morning when all but the most stalwart have filtered off to where ever they lay their heads, there is still that aliveness. Shivered a little at the sadness...

I didn't know either and people kept talking about them...was in 4Q and saw slot machine called silver strike. If you it the correct symbol on pay line a dispenser rotates and dispenses a souvenir $10 chip in plastic cover. There are various designs. Not sure how many? Also not sure if just 4Q...maybe someone else knows? Sorry!

They are basically pure silver. Some are worth $10 others are worth more depending on color. I think the highest is $300 for special occassions. You can turn them in at thw cage for cash or keep for a souvenir. @DaiLun is a big collector and may be able to way in. I believe El Co also has silver strike machines.

Random tokens are struck in.999 fine silver. The rest are not. The non silver ones are redeemable at their specific casino cage for $10 each. If you get one that is stamped Silver they can be worth $40 or more depending on the spot price of silver.
As best i know only 3 Vegas casinos still have machines: El Cortez, Plaza, and 4 Queens.

I have a bunch at home and they are neat to look at but that's about it.

Diamond status provides nothing with the system being used. First come, first serve. Have to text to get on waitlist. Make sure you get the updated time as to when to text your message, as it varies day-to-day. And, you can only visit the pool of the hotel in which you are staying.
