    My Trip Report

This trip happened because i was off work for 5 weeks because of a collapsed lung. I was feeling better the last two weeks off so i figured, why not use the time to take a little vacation. I live in Michigan, but i had to drive because the Doctor told me that my lung couldn't handle the pressurizing of the cabin. Ok, so 30 hours later, straight thru and we are in Vegas.

We got into town on a Thursday night and kind of just took it easy. Went and gambled a little at Fitzgeralds, hung out with the bartenders Rodney and Chris. We listened to EJ the DJ that was playing downstairs. Basically just hanging out with the friends i've made there over the years. Turned in early because of the long drive. Friday spent the day gambling on slots and dueces wild and really just didn't win much on anything. Friday night went out with one of the guys that work for the casino and a couple of girls he met. We went to the piano bar inside of New York New York. That was fun. We ended up getting back to Fitz around 5 am. Had a few drinks at the bar and partied some more untill about 8:30 and crashed.

Saturday, more gambling and no big wins. Might have started drinking a little to early this day. Went and listened to EJ the DJ from 6-9 and just i was going to make sure to grab a table for my wife and i and Varanus1, look who shows up. It was Robert and Sandy(Varanus1). So we grab the table and talk and hang out. Well Robert went to get drinks and i sat there with Sandy to make sure she was ok while he was gone and Sandy decides she wants to sit closer to the stage and cons me into moving the table about 12 feet across the room right next to the stage. Ok, i decided to move the table but i did tell her i was going to tell security that if they questioned me. HaHaHa. But i talked to them about it and they said it wasn't a problem as long as nobody called down from upstairs. At some point i decided to go next door and get my normal tip for the boys in the band "Speaks Brothers"to break in the new drummer. So i got a fifth of Yukon Jack and some shot glasses and started pouring. The stage is a little taller now but i got up there with no problem. Well atleast no problem the first time, it got harder. I did this a few to many times and after about half the fifth was gone, so was i. My wife had me to the room by midnight and i'm sure i needed it. I have to make sure not to do that again because i love hanging out with everyone in the band and listening to them.

Nothing special on Sunday just more gambling and losing. Hung out with the Dj and his girlfriend. Then when he was done working we all stayed around and partied till about 4:30. By this time i should mention we had a little bit of a group that we had met while here. The DJ and his girlfriend, me and my wife Annie,Jerry and Stacy from Florida. Jerry is Richard Petty's nephew, Chris (who we called Snoop Dog) and his girlfriend and sister. And usually the security gaurd Melissa when she got off work at 11. Almost forgot Anthony, another security officer usually had a few drinks with us when he got off work at 11 also.
Now here is where some drama starts. One of the security guys that works there was kind of talking to my wife. She says he was flirting a little with her. I trust her so i can deal with that.

Now on Monday night my wife wore a short (Risque) dress down and we listened to EJ again when all of a sudden, the security guy i was referring to earlier comes up and tells my wife she should go change. Not because they called down from upstairs but because if she was his wife he wouldn't approve. Well let me tell you, I seen my wife more pissed off than i have ever seen. He actually told her that he would escort her to her room so she could change. I then told him that i thought i could handle that myself. We went upstairs and changed and then came down and took our whole group over to the 4-Queens to finish out the night. Needless to say the next morning we checked out of the place i had been going to for years. Fred over at the 4-Queens had been trying to get me over there for awhile anyways. So we went and talked to him and an hour later we were in a jacuzzi suite at the 4-Queens comped for the rest of the week. This is when the gambling turns around.

Started playing some slots and hit for $1250. Stayed on that machine and hit for about $350 more before i cashed out. For 2 days i couldn't go wrong on slots here. $325 on 5 dollar wheel of fortune, $150 on a dollar slot. I was loving it over here. Wednesday my wife wants to play Let-It-Ride. So we both toss out $100. About a half an hour later i get a straight flush for $5000,man this is to cool. The waitress comes by and i order a Budlight and when she dropped it off i tipped her a green. She actually came back to tell me that i tipped her $25. Sweet girl, I told her i knew that and i just won $5000. She told me i made her day, so i kept tipping her 5 everytime i got a beer after that. They came over to pay me and then gave me a comp to Hugo's Cellar for that night, great food by the way.

Well, tonight we had plans to meet up with Jackie a bartender from Fitzgeralds to hang out. She met us at the 4-Queens and we had a few and then went down to the Golden Nugget to check out their lounge show, which is always fun. But now we are starting to miss the rest of our friends at Fitzgeralds even though my wife vowed never to go back in. We went back and hung out with our friends there. Mind you we never told anyone in management that we were upset or anything. The next day Bruce (Casino Director for Fitzgeralds) happened to be over at the 4-Queens before work and found out why we moved over there. Let me tell you, it was at this point that sh*t hit the fan. I'll tell you this much, i never had to see the gaurd again for the duration of my trip. They were reviewing what had happened but they said it was doubtful he would be back. They told me i should have let someone know what happened so it didn't happen to anyone else. They let me know that The Fitz was my home and would like it to stay that way. Everyone apologized which i told them it was no big deal, it just had upset us that night. They let me know that a security officer cannot give his opinion on someones clothes and sure as hell cannot offer to escort a female to her room. So we will be back at Fitzgeralds in June-July for a couple of weeks. Just got a letter from the head host the other day telling me to make sure i get in touch before coming back down so they can take care of everything. I feel kind of weird now, because i really wasn't looking for all the attention, But Hell, it's Vegas and it sure is nice.

I know it's long and i'm sorry. I wasn't even going to write a trip report untill someone messaged me and asked me where it was. But i thought i should include all the drama and how it was solved so you all would know why I think so highly of Fitzgeralds and all of thier employees, who i can say proudly are my friends. The trip home was long and sucked. Got a ticked in Arizona 70 in a 55 construction zone. Who would have thought $284. Luckily they have an agreement with Michigan that after i take a defensive driving class they waive the fine and no points on my license. Cool.

And last but not least, I know your curious. I came home with $2,500 more than i left with. Thank you for reading.

Nice trip report. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. I live in Indiana and I'm curious about the 30 hour drive. I would have thought it was a much longer trip. What route did you take?

I started out on 96 out of Michigan andf then took the following roads. 80west to 55 to 44 to 40 to 93 North into Vegas. Very few roads actually, just very long roads. The only reason i did it was because i had to, otherwise i wouldn't have ever done it. But i don't like driving long distances, my wife on the other hand has made this trip before and doesn't mind it. The last time she came back thru Utal and Colorado and so on.
