Hi, I am traveling to Vegas, from Louisiana in January for my 50th birthday! I've been keeping a watch on performers/concerts/events and am wondering if the week I'm going Jan 13-17 is vacation time for them or if 2020 scheduling just hasn't been posted yet. I am super excited, regardless. I'm sure January isn't the best time to visit Vegas, but that's when my birthday falls, actually the 8th (YES the same as Elvis! ) but that week isn't an option for us. I'd love to hear suggestions on what to do and see, specific to that time of year. I know there is so much available and I certainly hope to go again in a warmer month. Thanks in advance.

Also, I'm not real familiar with using these type of forums so please forgive any faux pas!

    Welcome!

It is not the best site but go to vegas.com and then hit "shows" and on the left hand side you will see many, though not all (Wynn and MGM shows often aren't on here) headliners. Last time I checked it went as far out as April.

go to smartervergas.com, sign up (free) and you see all hotels and resident show discounts available. Also, visit Tripadvisor for ratings for the shows or activities you have shortlisted.

    Welcome to VMB.

There are a lot of Trip Reports posted here with pics and commentary on hotels, casinos, food, shows, take a look through those plus the other sites already mentioned and feel free to ask questions, lots of experts on our board.

Providing info like staying on or off strip, fast food or high end dinners, specific types of shows you like, budget, etc are helpful in order to give you helpful information.

Lots of folks go to Vegas in January, myself included. Certain shows are ‘dark’ on specific nights, so be sure to check that out in advance.

Wear comfortable shoes for your strip walks!

You're asking questions so you're off to a great start. Welcome to VMB! Before I offer suggestions let us know where you are staying. If you arrive on the 13th and depart on the 17th you will be there 4 nights, right?

A pretty good source for shows is www.lasvegas-entertainment-guide.com. Also I recommend checking Golden Nugget downtown January entertainment on their website. They have a program called 52 Fridays and every Friday have entertainment-mostly bands from way back but some are very entertaining.

Welcome to the board! Any time is a good time to visit Vegas. My first trip was in the month of February and it was unseasonably cold (day time high didn’t crack 50) but it was still a blast. The sites already mentioned are great for finding shows!
