Trips to Las Vegas

Went out to Vegas to see a concert at the Cosmo this past weekend. Stayed off-strip due to high prices at hotels near the venue. Decided to skip the whole rental car debacle and use Lyft exclusively. Took at least eight Lyft rides.

In then end, I paid less to use Lyft than I would have for a rental car - less than $100 all in. I didn't have to deal with wasted time on the rental car shuttle or at the rental car facility. I didn't have to worry about drinking and driving, parking garage fees, or my liability for a rental car. I never waited more than seven minutes for a driver to arrive. I highly recommend it.

The only downside is that it's a bit of crazy picking the car up in the garage on level 2M at the airport. There are lots of folks and lots of drivers out there trying to connect. They've tried to create an organized system with marked, numbered parking spots for the Lyft/Uber drivers, but the system is new and drivers are still getting used to it as well. It's a bit of a cluster, but not too bad once you understand the system for finding your driver.

Thanks for this. I have always rented a car, but may have to try Uber or Lyft on my next solo poker trip.

I with Exvegaslocal. Just returned from vegas. The traffic is terrible, charges for everything now including parking. Promos for lyft and uber all over and much cheaper than a taxi. Never wanted more than 5 min. to get a ride. They all had nice cars and very friendly to ride. So easy to use with your smartphone.

I plan to use Lyft this trip. My last trip in February we used Uber with no issues, and I used them in New Orleans in June as well with no issues. However my husband went back to Vegas in July and each time he used Uber he had a bad experience and now doesn't want to use them our upcoming trip. Hopefully we have a good experience with Lyft.

I used cabs as well as Lyft and Uber on my last trip. I loved it when it was time to leave Peppermill. My group ordered 2 Lyft and one Uber for us all. 1st Lyft was there in about 3 minutes, the 2nd a couple minutes later. The Uber came as the 2nd Lyft was leaving.

Not having to wait there forever for a cab as usual was great. Prices were also much lower than a cab and I had all positive experiences.

I'm a convert. ;) I will use Lyft on my next trip.

I just returned home Friday. Used LYFT and uber both for the first time. No issues. Will definitely use both of them again. Now with parking fees, we will have to factor that into the cost of renting a car. Probably won't ever rent a car again unless we are traveling outside of Vegas during our trip.

I also just used Uber/Lyft for the first time in Vegas. I was worried about problems using the service because I don't have a data plan in the U.S. but found free wifi readily available to everyone in CET and MGM properties as well as at the Orleans and the North Premium Outlet Mall (I didn't go to the south one). I had nothing but great service. I was travelling with my sister and between the two of us, we only had to spend $2 total (plus tips) on 6 rides because we had so many free codes. Even without the free codes, it would have been wayyyy cheaper than cabs or a rental car so I definitely plan on using the service again on my next trip. Highly recommend!

Uber/Lyft is all we use when we're in town! Drivers are awesome and we never wait long. I have read a couple driver threads on the web about what they go through, if you can please tip the drivers even though they say it's only an option! Then need it but won't ask! They are service workers also so hook them up.

Can someone walk me through using lyft? I can't figure it out.. I also have a code but there is no place for me to use the code.
Here is what I have done so far:
Downloaded app on ipad
open it and saw map.
entered my source and destination did not see where and who I can choose to ride.
I went to the next screen to see maybe that where its at. Next thing I know a driver was on its way in 4 minutes. Lucky I checked in 2 minutes and cancelled.

I am confused!!!!

the app for Uber or Lyft is left than perfect, but in the end it works. Lyft customer service (by email or IM) is pretty good. and the drivers have told me that the app has much room for improvement on their end as well. trial and error I suppose.

Question: where do I find my rating on the Lyft/Uber app? I've always rated the drivers 5 stars but I can never find where the drivers rate me.

All those great reasons to skip the rental car craziness. We rented for years and finally gave up and started doing cabs/walking. We have now add Uber/Lyft to the mix.

Taking that damn shuttle would start the trip out bad, and taking it a the end made for a crappy ending.
