    My Trip Report

We had been going to Elgin Riverboats quite often this year when I hit it big - $100,000 on a $5.00 slot. So what do you do but head to Vegas Baby! That's what my husband I did this last week-end. Stayed at the MGM Arrived in Vegas Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m. - went straight to the MGM- upgraded from Emerald Tower to Main Tower. Didn't see much of the room but we did have a great view of the mountains and strip. Room not ready till noon so we immediately started gambling but not until we got a players card. I hit $300 on a $1.00 machine right away but my husband had no luck with video poker. Got into the room by 1:00 unpacked and back to the casino. We had earned enough points by 3:00 to get free buffet and tickets to FX (we were dumb and turned down the FX tickets - didn't want to take time away from the Casino). I got a headache and went to take a nap. As I got up at 10:00 that night I met my husband in the hallway -we exchanged places. I played slots till 3:00 in the morning - they were at 50% occupancy so had my pick of the machines and had 2 employees hanging out with me all night. I hit a $900 jackpot after I had put in quite a bit. Friday we played again at the MGM the were now at 100% occupancy - I asked if we could have any comps. They gave us $180 in cash. Again my husband was losing. We took a nap in the afternoon and I played till 3:00 in the morning again. Lost everything I had won and then some. Saturday we finally left the hotel and went to Tropicanna - not impressed, NYNY - won $600 there, Excalibur and then down the strip to see the waters at Bellagio - magnificent site!!! Took the tram from Ballys back to MGM. Met my brother and his fiance Sat afternoon and went to Rio - enjoyed the show in the air. Back to Bellagio - another fantastic show and song. Ate at Bally's Big Kitchen - not bad. Stopped at the Venetion - husband finally won a little at black jack. Stopped at Ceasars - Treasure Island - tried to see Pirate Show but was packed and couldn't see a thing. Got back to the hotel around 11:00 - took a nap till 3:00 but had to get up as this was our last night. Went down and played till 7:00 - stopped at the players club to see where we stood. They picked up all our food - gave us $60.00 for breakfast (I invited my brother and fiance over as we could never eat $60.00 for breakfast) plus they gave us another $89.00 cash - think we played enough?? After breakfast we checked out and off again to the slots for my last chance. I hit a $1350 jackpot - got another W-2 that I have to claim. By noon I was gambled out - waited in the lobby for my husband to meet me at 1:00. Went to the airport and both my husband and I won $100 on different machines!! Had a wonderfull time and will go back. But next time we will see the pool and a show or two. And not feel that we have to gamble at every casino we go in!!! We were just bit too much by the gambling bug for first timer - we lost a couple thousand but I had won it to begin with so it's okay!!! We're planning on going back in February!

Sounds like a great trip and considering you did a lot of gambling you seemed to have won pretty good. What slot we're you playing?

Thanks for the trip report I enjoyed it! [IMG]

Played mostly triple lucky seven and On the Money. Was a great trip - just felt we missed a lot of the Vegas experience being too much into the gambling. Next time.....

Is there anything better than playing with House Money?

I know what you mean about missing the Vegas experience....our last trip in July, we were having so much fun, we Never gambled!! (I know that's gonna make Mikey twitch!)

I was wondering. When you win a big jackpot and you have to fill out the tax form, do you have to actually show your social security card? If so, what do the tourist from other countries show if they hit it big while in Vegas? Thanks for the info. I hope I'm as lucky as you were.

You know I was always told you have to show your social security card - but that's not the case. You need a picture ID - passport, drivers license, and then you can tell them your social security number and you sign the w-2 form.
