    My Trip Report

    Hi Guys!

I am currently in Vegas, it is almost 5am the day after I got here, and completely jet lagged! So I thought I’d try my hands on one of these trip reports!

Second time in Vegas, first time going solo! The plan is just to enjoy my time here by gambling, drinking, partying and relaxing! I’ll try to take as many photos as I can but here’s the first day!

I got up at 4am British time, got ready and handed my car over to Meet and Greet at Manchester Airport, straight through security and into the lounge where I had two glasses of rose Moet champagne and a couple bowls/plates of breakfast!

    BA0E1735-39DE-4E5B-A649-2D84A96024EC.jpeg D7A46D42-96FA-49D0-B36D-DCF97462A0DA.jpeg 4E7B9046-D361-4CD4-B08C-F7E4EAB47B27.jpeg

I boarded the plane at 8:15 and started the 11 hour journey shortly after 9:15 - Watched a couple of films, slept for 10 minutes, chatted to the lady next to me who was lovely, and ate some really nice plane food from James Martin! Eventually we landed and I got out semi-first to avoid the queues in Immigration and went through with flying colours!

Got my first ever Lyft to The Signature at MGM Grand, this is my second time staying here and last time when I came for my 21st birthday 2 years ago I got given a corner suite which was great as you could see 2 views instead of one!

I tried the $20 trick and it was a semi-success, it seems MGM have a sheet for desk clerks telling them how much the upgrade would cost which he even showed me and said it would normally cost $25 per night to upgrade to a strip view but he could do $10 a night and also give me a corner suite in tower 2 as well as on a ‘Penthouse floor’ (which is what I wanted!) so I agreed!

The room is an amazing size for its price, around 1050 square feet, great views of the strip, massive bathroom living space and balcony - I love it.

After an hour or two of unpacking, refreshing myself, sorting my bankroll into days, and admiring the views, I ventured out for a little wander - First I went over to New York, sat down on a Wonka Machine, second press I get $120 bonus! I take the ticket and run!

    07AF5E7D-53F7-416D-BC6E-ED944E4C29D4.jpeg 03FFBE20-61A5-43E0-8D72-51F9E0F71D2B.jpeg C0809E2D-FFFF-4C2C-B55F-ADE6922CB24B.jpeg

Ventured around Park MGM and lost $60 on Buffalo Gold so quickly that the cocktail waitress didn’t even get back to me with my drink even after I waited 5-10 mins on the machine with no play for her..

Then into Aria - I had a couple of games of Dragon Spin(My fave game) and turned that $267 into $400!... then lost $200 back into it chasing the pearl bonus!

At this point, I was so exhausted my eyes were squinting so much I could barely see through them, so I made a plan to get back to the hotel and on the way grab some quick food - But before I do, I find some lightning link machines and within 5 minutes or so with no luck, down $200. So down pretty much my bankroll for the day -$440

I walked all the way back through MGM to the towers, and rang for room service instead which wasn’t bad! Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and Pizza, I passed out after the sandwich and so the pizza may be for breakfast today!

That was my first day! I might try to do it as I go along but if not I’ll post at the end of every day! Cheers!

Good luck! And good news about the $20 trick! We have had bad luck with just going through standard checkin at Signature, so maybe greasing the wheel might help!

Following along. I’m always tempted to try those sig balcony rooms but people often complain about the long hike to the strip. Good luck!

Enjoy your trip! I have stayed at Sig several times and have always enjoyed it. It is more of a hike to get everywhere but if you don’t mind walking, it isn’t that bad.

Day 2 didn’t go too great in terms of gambling as-well as feeling ill, which was either due to the sun or the seafood I had to eat for lunch!

I woke up very early and got out of the hotel at 8am and took a Lyft to the Bellagio to check out the conservatory but it was still under construction! I had a little wander, sat down at a couple of slot machines but lost $50-60 dollars pretty quickly and the atmosphere wasn’t great being that it was 8:30 in the morning, so I headed off to Caesars!

I took a browse round the casino and lost another $70ish dollars, so I took a walk through to the forum shops and around then had a long walk back through towards the Cosmopolitan for something to eat. Didn’t find anything I wanted to eat in Cosmo so got a Lyft back over to MGM and ended up eating at Emerils New Orleans Fish House. Service was great, drinks were good and the food was delicious! I had half a dozen oysters and a salmon burger.

    18EFFB03-80DA-4BFE-B7AF-F33CF27830EF.jpeg

I went back up to the room to recuperate and grab a quick shower as well as a nap, when I woke up I felt a bit queasy so I stayed in the room for a little longer and started to check the magazines in my room out. I found a section for cirque-de-Soleil that told me if I booked through their website rather than MGM I’d get more discount off which I checked and I did!

I took a look at KA show times and the last one was that night until the 21st September so I had to book it! I got a great seat in the theatre, I’d say one of the best for $134ish (I think it was the best personally since you were close enough to the stage for the actors to be around you as well as above you, as well as not being too far forward that you had to look back and to the side to look at what’s going on)!

The show was fantastic and hilarious at times, would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

During and after the show I was still quite queasy probably due to the mix of the sun, heat and seafood! It was 11:30 by time I got into the room so got into bed and hoped I would feel better in the morning - Which I did!

This morning I got up and out by 8:30, walked over to Planet Hollywood to try the Earl of Sandwich and my God, it was amazing - I had the Hawaiian BBQ. My plans were to go for the poker tournament in PH but it seemed like a lot of regulars were there so I’m going to save the money until a tournament or cash game tonight! I walked back over to MgM and had a good 2/3 hours on the slots winning and losing, but ultimately ended up $170 down. Currently back in the room and thinking about going downstairs to the pool!

    Day 3 was great!

So after I got back to the room yesterday I scouted out a couple of cash games on the Bravo Poker website (tells you live cash game tables and numbers), and then googled the poker rooms that I was interested in to find the best one, which is no doubt the Encore Poker Room!

I got a lyft from the hotel to Encore and my god what a beautiful hotel it is, I mean I’ve seen videos of people walking inside of it but when you’re actually there, it’s 10 times better!

I wasn’t going to sign up to the rewards card since I wasn’t going to play slots too much here... however I did sit down on a machine and started to play and a casino guy actually came to ME to sign ME up rather than me go to the desk so I thought well I might as well now I guess! He explained that if I get 300 points I can spin the reward wheel and 750 I get two free buffets which sounded like a great deal!

    D57ACDA0-CA08-4E21-9FB5-0D9AA06A44CE.jpeg 3EF2C8E3-CDFB-492B-B639-C680499A96B7.jpeg B4F2BAC4-A50F-47AB-8F42-1A2B8418B895.jpeg

In a matter of minutes I get to 300 points and spin the wheel to get $10 free play - not bad. I was also up since I kept hitting bonuses and good hits so I thought I’d keep going to 750 points whilst I’m winning. I got up to around 700 points and was down $150 dollars so I thought I might as-well stop now and actually play what I came here to play which was poker!

I sat down around 5pm and steadily grew my chips from $200 buy-in to cashing out at $565 on a 1-3 game of NLHE at around 11:30, decent night! As well as the great free drinks that came round very regularly! I kept switching between captain and coke and rum punch. So all in all for the night I was up $215 and I was only a few points away from 750 so I sat down at a machine and got my two free buffets that I’m going to try today!

I think I’m definitely going to be back the encore later on today to play a bit more cash poker before heading over to the comedy show I’ve got booked today at the Space!

Only took about 10 minutes - I walked out the gates of the signature which is pretty much just across the road and down the street about a half mile walk.

Here’s the road I’m talking about:

    0CA811A6-86DD-4981-9A9F-81B7C52C8381.jpeg

Everyone thinks the signature is a long walk from the strip, but it’s literally 10 minutes away, the walk through the towers and to the MGM grand is longer which is what most people do I think!

Oh I didn’t even know I uploaded that haha! I took it on the way back to my suite after the KA show when it was like 11-11:30pm and there was just that random guy walking through the hotel with a freakin’ real Macaw on his hand with no strings/leash attached - crazy! Beautiful bird though, I love parrots etc!
