    My Trip Report

    Finally, after TWO YEARS AND TWO MONTHS, the ffejry has come back to Las Vegas!

    And we are under 24 hours away!

    I know I did this theme before in a previous trip report (March 2019). But I can't think of anything more appropriate for this trip. It has been a long time waiting and now... The time is almost here.

    Some of you may know I am a big wrestling fan. I got the chills when I saw the below clip happen back in 2011. This is how I envision my return to Las Vegas. Check out the crowd's reaction. You don't need to watch the entire thing, just up to the 7 minute mark or so. :) Even if you're not a wrestling fan, I think you can feel what I'm feeling about Las Vegas right here! All the feels! Hell, maybe I should do third person speak like The Rock!? :whistle:

    So what's on the agenda?

    Flight is at 8:50 AM out of O'Hare. It was originally for 9:45 PM or so. I have the first two nights reserved at the Cosmopolitan. Normally, I would balk at paying for a room (except resort fees), but COVID-19 showed me that life is too short. If you want something (and I wanted the balcony room with the fountain view - which I reserved!), then you go and get it. So I booked that room and the 9:45 PM flight. @notfromconcentrate said something to me that bugged me - he said it would have been kind of a wasted day and money because I wouldn't be able to get into the room until midnight or 1 AM. He was 1000000% absolutely right. So I took a gamble (pun intended), hit up Spirit Airlines on Facebook messenger. They changed my flight to the 8:50 AM flight, absolutely free, no extra charges! I was surprised. First win and the trip hasn't begun yet!

    After the two nights at the Cosmopolitan, with it being Labor Day weekend, I had a hard time finding some comps. Quick backstory: I was at Horseshoe Hammond a couple months ago, played a little bit. Somehow, the next day, I had way more credits than expected. I basically played to 50 tier credits at the most... it was a quick trip on my lunch break. But it said I had earned over 800 or something to that effect. That really opened up my opportunities. Taking advantage of this, I booked the Premium Room at the Flamingo. The Flamingo will always have a soft spot in my heart. It is the hotel my friends and I stayed at throughout our 20s, so there is a lot of good memories there. Great location, lots of options for food and drinks. I need to figure out how to spend $73 in resort credits on food, so cheap suggestions please!

    Another thing I want to mention - I, somehow, accidentally booked the Go Mini Suite AND three nights. :eek::eek::eek::eek: It is a good thing I was double checking my reservations the other day. I called the Flamingo, got transferred to the VIP department. They had zero issues adding a fourth night and changing the room to the Premium Room, despite it showing it for $239 charge on Saturday night. So the only thing I have to pay is resort fees. Another win in the books! :headbang:

    Now, for gaming! I don't expect to be doing much tables, if at all. I've been reading that the minimums for Blackjack has been $25 or higher. That's a bit steep for me as I like to start with $10 or $15 to "warm up" and work my way up into the $25s or more. I am planning a stop or two Downtown, so maybe I will get lucky out there for my Blackjack kick. With that being said, I will probably devote 95% of my gaming on slot machines. Anybody with any lucky slots, send them my way! I'm afraid that @Flowers might have taken all the hand pays away. I'll probably dabble in some VP just for fun. I'll be checking out the newest craze - electronic craps and the claw machine at the D. I also have $125 in MyVegas free play to redeem for Day 1. Hopefully the free play will become my bankroll (which is about $2k) for the duration of the trip.

    For food and drinks, I made a reservation for 4:00 PM at The Steak House at Circus Circus on Friday. Kinda early, I know, but I want to explore Circus Circus as I've never stepped foot there. I'm still debating between the prime rib or the rib eye! I'll probably hit up my local spots for drinks or BYOB. I've never had O'Shea's Frozen Baileys, so that's on my mandatory list. I do want to check out Frankie's if possible, but we will see if my schedule allows it. I am meeting up with a friend a couple times during the trip, but no firm plans have been made. Currently, on my Google Sheets, I have Thursday, Saturday, and Monday wide open. But I am sure that will change tonight once I finish packing, hop on the computer, scour VMB for some last minute ideas, and hopefully hit the sack by 8PM! :D

    I also have one night booked at Fremont hotel for Sunday. I plan on being Downtown that day, so I wanted to check in early that day, head out to the Circa pool, come back, freshen up and change of clothes, then explore Circa. Should be a fun day.

    So, 7 days, 6 nights, 3 hotels. Should be quite the adventure. Pictures later! I'm actually still working right now...

    "Working" :whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle:

    May have more to add later, but hope all of you can join me for the ride! Pinging @Vegasworm per her request :beer:

    P.S. Hi Mom! Yes, I'll make sure to FaceTime you 29 times a day, don't worry!!!

    This sounds like a great trip! Also sounds like you might be at Circa the same time I am? I arrive next Tuesday at approx 930 am Vegas time (like you switched to an early direct flight from a later after-work flight). I'm coming in early to check the UEFA World Cup qualifiers. So if you see a drunk guy in a scotland jersey (and depending how drunk possibly a kilt to boot!) thats me. I'll probably be posted up at mega bar or playing craps at Plaza/Circa/GG. Say hi, I'll buy you a beer and have a VMB moment.

    Sunday! Hell, I'll buy YOU a beer if you can get me into the pool without paying $40 cover! I think we will be missing each other by a few days based on your timers?

    Good luck, @ffejry. I love your move with staying downtown one night. We are doing the same thing in December. Three nights at the Mirage, one night at the Main Street Station, and two nights at WynnCore. I wish you luck and will be following along. Cheers!
