Trips to Las Vegas
20
I know I have had the countdown for quite some time and also my hotel booked. Yesterday I finally booked my flights and am 100% on going to Vegas on Easter Sunday. I am due to arrive just before 8am local time and depart at 515pm the following Friday (21st), flying Southwest. I had originally booked Southwest out and Fontier back but the more I stewed over Frontiers bait and switch practice and some reviews I canceled for a refund and went for Southwest both ways, paying about $60 more.

Right now I am fully booked at Harrahs due to it being the only comp I could get based on my limited play. I am looking at maybe using a MyVegas for a night at Aria or Mandalay Bay but not sure I want to change hotels.

This trip, absent a change of mind, I plan on traveling light, just taking the clothes, my players cards, cash and iPhone/charger. Normally I would take a computer and big camera with me and the camera part may change but I really want to just go with the flow. As things get closer I will come together with plans but really I don't plan on having any stinking plans, just winging it as I go which is contrary to how I operate.

I know this post really serves no purpose but the excitement is killing me and I don't know anyone else who would understand. Thanks for reading, Vegas on

Congrats, IWannaBe! :woot:

My bride just booked us, too...But for a night (tonight) at a hotel down my Mall of America.
Not the same for sure!

Hope your countdown clock accelerates for you! :D

Have a blast, and yes, we absolutely get your excitement! VMB....the spot where everyone gets your love of Vegas, and applaudes you for it!

I feel your excitement. I am also going in April. Haven't booked yet, waiting for a cheap flight.

Indeed, if one didn't feel your excitement, they would be on the wrong board! Have a safe and fun trip! Wasn't there some song about the waiting being the hardest part?!

..

Idea - keep room at Harrahs for the full trip, but one night in the middle just stay down at M-Bay. Leave some stuff in room at Harrahs and maybe even leave DND sign on door. A vacation inside a vacation.

Feel your excitement too!! Almost the same dates, coming in the day before. Still playing the flight waiting game but everything else is good to go.

I did the flights yesterday. I figure the outbound flight was not going to get cheaper and I gambled on the return.

MyVegas is a disappointment right now. Most rewards I am interested sold out. Still debating on whether to do a night at Aria or Mandalay Bay. I liked Mandalay but Aria is one I have never stayed at.

I would try Aria. My last trip was the first time I stayed there and I really enjoyed it. I'm a spa person and that will keep me going back there.

Thats what I am leaning for, but I do not know if I want to downgrade after that to Harrahs. I have the reward credits, nearly 270k of them. I also am debating on Ka or seeing Zumanity again or buying ticket and seeing a different show, thinking MJ One

Oh yeah, I see your point. But Harrah's have the new rooms so hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. I haven't seen any of those shows yet but they're on my bucket list. I always seem to get Love on MyVegas and just haven't made it to the other ones yet. I'm sure whatever you decide it wil be good. I'm so ready to go!! Vegas is my mommy time out and this cold weather is not for me!! I'm ready for drinks and heat, lol.

I am just not sure about Harrahs, I have never felt good vibes there, but its comped except resort fees. I even have thought about just paying for room elsewhere if I can find something I like in a price I like.

I just booked a free Zumanity ticket via MyVegas. I was going to wait but seats are very limited so I opted to go ahead and get it. I seen it last time and really enjoyed it. I am debating on weather to see any other shows while in town.

I had no problem with my room at Harrah's except something of my own. For some reason I was allergic to the cleaning solution in the room. And so was mom. Both of our noses ran eyes watered and swelled etc. And you could smell the solution in there. I guess that's good because it means the room was clean LOL. The more I think about it I wonder if there was something in there that they needed to disinfect. I have not run into the smell at any other CET property.

Since I would like to stay there again sometime, the most practical thing to do would be to stalk down a couple of housekeepers at HARRAHS this trip and ask if I could look at a room. Or possibly if I go to see a host on duty they could arrange it. Then I would know if the scent is still there.

Regardless I'm overtired and rambling, but so excited for you. I was lucky enough to get the new nonstop Southwest flight out of Minneapolis both directions. I assume this is a test on the nonstop and hopefully successful enough that they increase them.

I am not over sensitive thankfully. I love non-stop going out but coming back I don't mind a stop somewhere. Seems from here the Southwest non-stops both ways are usually cheaper so thats what I do. There are two a day in my market.

So being patient paid off. Looking at MyVegas they had a 2 night stay for 150k during select spring dates, my first couple nights being on that list, so my first 2 nights are at Mandalay Bay and my last 3 are comp at Harrahs. I also used a Myvegas reward and bought a dinner buffet at Mandalay Bay so one evening will be a good meal for free. So Myvegas this trip has gotten me a Zumanity ticket, 2 nights at Mandalay Bay and a buffet. Not bad if I should say so.

Congratulations on booking! I always feel 1000% better when I have my next trip booked! The excitement just builds from there. I think everyone on this board feels the same.
