    My Trip Report

I'm heading back to my happy place! Ten days in Vegas - mostly solo, mostly downtown. I'll be bopping around town - staying at three different hotels plus some time in Henderson with my family. Hitting up pretty much every casino in downtown, plus some locals, and may throw in a ramble up and down the strip.

I've been having a great travel year. Just did an Alaska cruise with my dad, which culminated in an amazing tour of Vancouver by @GamblingGolfer. Wish we had had even more time in the Pacific NW, but alas. I'll just console myself with this Vegas trip. I'll be working for part of the trip, so that will keep me from full on degeneracy - at least on work days. No promises for weekends/holidays.

    Itinerary:
    10/8 - Henderson
    10/9 - Rampart
    10/10 - 10/13- The D
    10/14 - 10/16 - Four Queens
    10/17 - 10/18 - Henderson

I've sketched out a game-plan for the trip, which I'm sure will be thrown out the window within a day of arrival. Who knows where the week may take me, but there will surely be:
    • VP - So MUCH VP
    • Copious Alcohol Consumption
    • Maximizing Comp Value
    • Sports Ball Watching
    • A New (to me) Local Casino
I'll be doing this semi-live. So expect random blurry pictures throughout the day and at least an attempt to catch up to current once a day.

The luck began pre-trip. I went to my local last night to pick up my weekly FP, play a bit of VP, and participate in a drawing. One of the original winners wasn't there and my name was called as an alternate in the first round of the drawing, score! I was down $200 on the day and excited because I've won this drawing twice before for $150 FP and $350 FP. Figured I'd end up at least close to even for the day. Drew my envelope out of the drum. Opened it. Almost had a heart attack.

    $10,000 FP

What the what???????????? By far my best day in a casino. Ever. I have until the beginning of November to play off the FP, so I'm saving it until I get back from Vegas. I'm still in a state of mild shock. Hopefully it's a good omen for the trip. It's pretty nice to know that even if this trip goes terribly, I've got a really great shot at rebuilding my bankroll as soon as I get home.

Nice hit. I always pull the $100-$200 FP never the big ones. I will be at the Fremont starting this Friday (11) for four nights with some friends. We like to drink and will be watching football on Saturday and Sunday somewhere. They are actually ditching me on Saturday for the Husker game to go watch it at some local bar. I dont want to go as they dont have betting windows at the local bar. You are more than welcome to join if you want!! Just let me know.

Let's get this party started. Worked all day and ran errands over my lunch. I've put in some extra hours last week and the beginning of this week trying to get ahead - hopefully that will minimize the amount of work I need to do while in Vegas. In the airport grabbing a quick sip and nibble before my late flight.

I'm flying Frontier which is meh - but they had the direct flights which made the most sense for my schedule and were $300 cheaper than the directs on Southwest even after all the fees, so I'll suck it up. But I might whine about it a bit.

I'm grabbing an uber down to Henderson upon arrival. Aunt and Uncle are travelling, but I'll crash at their place for the night and then borrow one of their cars until they come home next week. Working from Henderson tomorrow. Have my annual performance review - fingers crossed. I just got the written copy and it's looking pretty good. Plus I got a small bonus in my paycheck unrelated to the performance review. Everything is coming up roses for me this week! Let's hope that continues in Vegas.

Then it's off to Summerlin for one night at the J.W. Marriott / Rampart casino. I seeded some play there last trip and had a host introduce himself to me. He also sent me a birthday card. I haven't gotten any offers in my online account or via mail, but I emailed the host asking about getting one night comped to try out the property and he set it up no problem. I really liked the casino and Hawthorn Grill on my last visit. Excited to check out the hotel - it might make it into my normal rotation for Vegas.

Enjoy the Rampart/Marriott, @eliza - we like that end of town as we tend to golf there. With Red Rock and Suncoast nearby, there are some choices.
