I've looked at the average temps for Vegas on a couple of sites and know it can get pretty cool.....however, my question is whether or not there is much 'wind chill' - trying to work out what kind of winter coat I need to bring. If it's chilly but not with that bone-chilling breeze, it makes a difference! I

No need for a winter coat in Vegas, unless you come from a warm weather place. It almost never gets below 5C and thats late at night, long sleeve shirt + summer coat will be enough, i was there in December , also went in january 2014.

I have spent time in VA (I know, other side of the country etc) in November many times and it felt freezing so was beginning to worry!! :)

I've been to LV the last 2 Februarys and will be there again this year in February and the temps have been awesome. I've worn shorts during the day. No jacket needed in the evening…maybe I just got lucky though!

I have been in February where it was in the 70's and you can be by the pool! I have also been where it can be chilly and all you need is a lightweight jacket.

Early February tends to be like first days of spring in Chicago. You probably need a jacket even though it doesn't seem like it,

Sadly, I have no idea what the first days of Spring feel like in Chicago! I will definitely take a jacket, though! :)

I have been out there several times in early to mid February. What I have found is, from sunset til about 10am, it is quite chilly. Midday is fairly comfortable. I wear a stocking cap on the golf course in the early am.

Went in February a couple of years ago and found the days not too bad. A light jacket at the most, but the evening did cool off quite a bit. My wife did not heed my advice to bring something warmer for the evening than her light sweater and as a result had a to buy a warmer jacket for those chilly evenings.

Thank you to those who have replied since my last post, I appreciate the feedback!

As it is getting closer to when we go, I'll keep an eye on temps and forecasts....it's just a pain to wonder whether I need to bring a thicker coat which I might not even use when there!! Not to mention the whole 'dress for winter on the Strip and then have to strip as soon as you enter a casino'!!! :D
