I haven't been going to Vegas long enough or often enough to have many places close on me, but I'll certainly miss the Victorian Cafe at Bills. It was a great spot to hit up when I was on my way back to the Flamingo for the late night special before bed and I ate there for the last time two days before they closed.

Another vote for The Great Moments room and the Upper Deck at LVC.

Ken's mention of Sushi King got me thinking of a place we used to stop at near Henderson called the Green Wave. Not quite up to Sushi King's standards, but certainly better than Todai. Sorry to see it close.
As a buffet guy, I can't think of any that ever permanently close. If they do, they usually re-open as a brand new creature. I'm not going to count the SLS buffet; it wasn't around long enough to count.

I miss the casual restaurant (coffee shop) at the Stardust. I forget the name of it. One of the better downscale casino restaurants there was!

In fact I miss most of the casino coffee shops which have been replaced by yet another HHAGG or TGIF! :(

I understand the one at Flamingo is now a victim of this! :(

Almost like "and now it's another {f-bomb}ing fro-yo place!" if anyone gets that reference. (LOL, Google it if you dare!)

Yet another missing the Great Moments Room at the LVC. First steak house comp I got in Vegas and it was great every time I was there.

The upper deck was the best late at night or to start the day. They had great gamblers specials.

I just miss the good ole LVC in its glory days and I miss many of the memories made there with special friends.

In the early years and on a tight budget the Westward Ho deli bar and all those coupons were great. Today I wouldn't eat there but for
drunken 24 year old it was perfect.

How has no one mentioned the NASCAR Cafe at Sahara?! $1 hotdogs, $1 shots $1 beers, and $1 blackjack- just make sure you bring your own penicillin!

I'll tell you a good place I thought was gone, but just found out changed owners and is still there. Tiffany's Cafe in the old White Cross Drug Store at LV Blvd and Oakey is now called Vickey's Diner. Apparently, one of the Tiffany's waitresses bought the place. The location has come on hard times since the drug store closed and the grocery store next store closed several years back. The food is ALWAYS good there and it's old Vegas; many deals went down in this small joint. For those of you who find yourself at Dino's or the OG... this is the spot to get your grub on afterwards.

DMR I remember the old coffee shop at Stardust they always had a good loss leader special. Wasn't it somewhat 1950's themed?

Not sure anyone remembers this place but Caesars had a restaurant that was somewhat dinner theater, Bacchanal. A small dining room with a multicourse meal, all you could drink wine poured by wine goddesses and mid way through the meal the men got a neck/shoulder massage from one of the wine goddesses, along with feeding you grapes. Caesar as well as Cleopatra made an appearance. We did it over 20 years ago and I remember it seemed like a huge cost at $75 per person.

Edit - found a link, second menu down, on the UNLV site. Guess it was older than I remembered, look at the prices back then! Funny because our dinner was almost the same back in the early 1990's.

The old coffee shop at the Stardust was called the Palm Room - I loved it so much - it overlooked the pool :) Had my first experience with a cream cheese and jelly sandwich there when I was about 8

You're probably thinking of Ralph's Diner, which was kind of short-lived. It was kind of a knock-off of Ed Debevic's if you know that one. It was to the south in the mall area and was replaced with a sushi place.

Of course (LOL - MEOW!) any good independent restaurant that does not reek of a chain/formula might be considered to be 1950s themed! :) :)

The name Toucan Harry's came to me as what I remember the name of the old Stardust coffee shop, although I seem to remember that it had another name (edit: Palm Room, thanks Kinkette) at one time. Yes, I do remember some specials that were truly meaningful as far as value.

I agree with Binion's café in the basement. Awesome $7 prime rib dinners and playing keno while waiting for food.
PJ Clarkes in the forum shop -- miss the $1 oyster happy hour.

The Palm Room was fantastic. The most bare bones "cafeteria looking coffee shop". Very inexpensive and always attracted workers from other Vegas hotels. My uncle was a Stardust employee and introduced me to it when I visited him.
That was a little over 30 years ago.

Same here. i loved hitting the Palace Court casino before having dinner there. At Bacchanal, the nectar goddesses, shoulder massages and the "Sir, would you like your grapes peeled" inquiries were over the top.
