Another thread about flying to Vegas early in the morning inspired this poll. I usually try and fly between 10:01 a.m .and 2:00 p.m. EST. This way I don't have to get up too early but it still puts me into Vegas at a good time (flying from Ohio).

Usually fly out 9am UK time. Tend to arrive midday so works pretty well. Just enough time grab a beer and have bit of slot play before check into our room.

flight from Amsterdam around noon gives me arrival in vegas around 7pm, need to take the train first, so that gives me in total about 21 hours travel time....the things I do to be there :)

Because I live an one hour and 15min flight away, generally work until 5pm and uber to the airport so that usually put me between 730pm-830pm time. Now if taking vacation time is not part of the equation, 10-2pm would be my choice.

Our hands down favorite flight is the earliest nonstop leaving Austin - we're usually driving down Las Vegas Blvd in our rental car by 8:30 AM.....

We have the super fun lucky 777 flight out of Boston. It's a direct flight and everyone is usually in a great mood. I don't like checking in so late in LAS but I do love that I can work a shift and then "so long suckers" to my co-workers LOL

We love to fly the zombie flight from MSP and land in Vegas at midnight or shortly thereafter.
I usually drift off to sleep shortly after take-off and I snooze :snore: until I hear the captain announce our descent--or until my bride elbows me in the ribs, whichever happens first! :D
Nice to see those Vegas lights come into view in the middle of the night!

We always take the non-stop flight. Depending on the time of year it could be as early as 7:00 am to 11:00 am. Southwest is always changing the flight times. In January it happens to be the 11:00 am flight.

Best arrival is dinner time halfway through my four hour flight. Eat a carry on sandwich, have two inflight beers, land, secure room, get down to business!

mid to late morning... do not have to get up too early, and get to Vegas mid afternoon. Chances of room ready after 1 or so goes up fast.

Also good time to start drinking, though will still do it if a 7am flight.

But - airline AVAILABLE and cost effective flights make a big difference.

It's always non stop for me! I would prefer the earlish, around 10 or 11am flights but sometimes it is as late as 2 or 3pm.

Time is second to fares for me, except I avoid early flights.

I prefer a noon departure and always direct. That puts me in Vegas around 12:30 and gives me a good chance at being able to check in. Flight back I like a 2:00 pm departure so we can have a leisurely breakfast and play a little. This puts us back around 7:30 pm which makes the pick-up easy.

Used to do first flight out of ATL on Delta or defunct AirTran. Was able to eat lunch ahead of local crowd where ever we went, and no lines or wait. Now more close to noon departure times on either a Delta or SWA flight. No real traffic to airport. Takes us an hour to get there. Just go more with cost factor now. Still able to eat dinner on my east coast time and beat the crowds.

Whatever gets me to Vegas around standard check-in time. I don't like getting up too early. More concerned about flight prices instead of times though.

Being a "morning person," I usually try for the first non-stop flight of the day, typically departing around 8-something. I'd be up anyway, so there's no point pacing around until it's time to leave for the airport. Leaving before dawn lets me get ahead of the crazy Atlanta traffic and gives me nearly a full day in Vegas. More times than not, I'm able to get into my room upon arrival (around 11), which isn't that big a deal anyway. Airfares and other factors may affect things, and I've sometimes arrived mid-day and even late at night, so it's not like I haven't experienced other times.

Currently we like that early morning flight so that we have most of the day ahead of us in Vegas. It's like a bonus day. I think the other thread that should be started is "What flight time do you like for the return trip?" This is always a problem for us because the return flight we loose 2 hours and we have anywhere from 1 to 1.5 hour drive back home depending on where we fly out of (MKE or ORD).

I prefer to leave mid morning. That gets us there around lunchtime. It's hard to be at the airport for a 6AM flight these days. There's usually a non stop or two leaving around 10 or 11 and those are the ones I go for first.
