Favorite meaning good pays, friendly and good bar service. Mine is Boars Head (MSS) followed by Vue (D). I also like Golden Gate's but the pays aren't great.

Those you listed are solid. I also like King’s Bar ar 4 Queens and Ike’s Bar at El Cortez.

Vue bar (upstairs) at the D. Three way progressive on 8/5 bonus poker for quarters frequently has a positive EV. ACG or LVA coupons make it an even better play. I've always been able to get a seat and so far have been able to get good comps there. Plus the D serves Coke, not Pepsi.

Thanks. I haven't tried Ike's but will when I visit (which is very soon!)

Boars Head bar is overrated with limited seating. Especially beginning Tuesday. Although I hear (beginning 11-11)Saturday will have a couple of openings through the rest of the month.

Boars Head (MSS) for the old school design and great bartenders and Kings Bar (4Q) for the great odds on the progressives are my favorites.

Kings Bar at Four Queens for the pay tables, service and the ‘I’m in Vegas’ vibe. Parlour Bar in El Cortez for some upscale quiet time. Old Chicago at Four Queens cause I gotta eat. Boars Head at MSS for morning or early afternoon JOB and scratchers. Maybe I’d like Vue Bar more if I stayed at the D, but I’m going to at least play through the AGC coupon there this trip. My brother thinks Vue Bar is nirvana; anytime I would lose track of him that would be the first place to check.

I don't play VP anymore but I like to play video blackjack at the rear bar at the Fremont, between the buffet and the sports book. Up until the last time I was there it offers DD, split, insurance and surrender. It's secluded enough to feel private but it can still get very busy at times.

I checked the video BJ at the Fremont's shiny new bar, and of course, the rules are as bad as on the strip.

Thanksgiving weekend it is impossible to get a seat and the paytables get downgraded too...the 9/6 JOB switches to to 6/4 so it's best to steer clear and let the suckers play. :poke:

Are you just kidding here? Just pulling my leg, Right?
They actually go to each bar machine and change the paytables and then change them back after the holiday? If this is true, then they must do this New Year's Eve too? When else?
Can anyone verify this as I have never been to LV over Thanksgiving.

That is the main reason we don't go during thanksgiving. Even the multipliers for points don't make up for that. It amazes me how few people notice but it could be the turkey.

All the bars at the Four Queens share the progressives, both bars on the casino level and upstairs at the Chicago Brew Pub. And all the bars have $1 10/6 DDB which is a great play if you can deal with the large variance.

Rob889 I do believe you pulled that out of your assh*le. Absolutely not true, no paytables change for a single weekend. We have been to MSS the last 5 Thanksgivings in a row.

I'm not a downtown expert, nor a VP expert. But I love going to the Boar Bar at MSS and playing while drinking their beer. I find it incredibly relaxing. I try to go there every trip if I can.

I like to play at the boars head(MSS), the 4 queens one(by the shitter), and the el cortez bar (by their keno).

No casino goes around changing their pay tables for 1 weekend. That's ludicrous. All of the above mentioned places are great for vp. Personally, I love MSS for 4 things: The Boar's Head bar has full pay games in a nice quiet atmosphere. They have new machines with full pay in their non-smoking area near valet. They have STP vp with full pay like 9/6 JoB and 9/6 DDB. And, lastly, they give out those extra scratch cards to boost your wins...enough to cover the tips for my drinks. My second favorite is the 4Qs because their comp system is so loose that it makes an ordinary good play (like 9/6 JoB) into an even game.

Sorry Joe you're probably right...I originally quoted bubbas post referring to seating opening up after his trip, threw in an obnoxious payable for the weekend I'm there and capped it off with a guy getting poked with a stick. I honestly didn't think anyone would actually believe it wasn't a joke I guess I gotta read the room better.

Full disclosure though, it was pulled out of said assh*le at the bar and it's closed due to a bad biohazard situation going on there now but I was told it should be back up and running after thanksgiving weekend :peace:
